The Whole U is excited to host Take Our Kids to Work Day with the UW Community! To celebrate the event, we have partnered with UW faculty, UW Recreation, and UW Athletics to provide a few activities for you and your kids. Register for the day and attend as many of the sessions as you would like. The day is appropriate for all children ages 3+. Highlights of the day include: Welcome Breakfast with The Whole U From 9:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. in the Lyceum, join The Whole U for juice, fruit, and pastries. All kids will receive a Husky Badge and participate in an icebreaker game to get to know one another Kids Yoga with Danny Arguetty From 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Lyceum, Danny Arguetty, Manager of UW Recreation’s Mindfulness Program, will guide the kids though an hour playful yoga, mindfulness, and laughter. This class will take place in the Lyceum and allow kids to play, discover, and explore yoga. No prior yoga experience is needed. Brainworks with Eric Chudler From 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Lyceum, take a journey into the brain with Dr. Eric Chudler, research associate professor in the Department of Bioengineering. Dr. Chudler will break down how the brain works in an easy to understand and engaging way. Don’t miss this fascinating presentation! Free Time From 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. the time is yours! Grab some lunch, visit your department, or share your favorite UW spot with your kids! Campus Scavenger Hunt to UWPD From 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. embark on an adventure to interesting and historic locations around the UW Seattle campus! Follow the clues, collect the answers, and take a photograph at each location. End the hunt at UWPD and claim the prizes! This scavenger hunt requires nothing more than a printed map and your cell phone. Husky Athletics Activity From 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. UW Athletics has partnered with the Whole U for an afternoon with them! Join the fun as UWPD walks us to Husky Athletics to get inspired to become a Husky fan! IMPORTANT: Check with your supervisor if you are uncertain if your department is able to participate in Take Our Kids to Work Day.
