The Whole U is excited to host Take Our Kids to Work Day at the UW Tacoma! To celebrate the event, we have partnered with the UW Tacoma community provide a few activities for you and your kids. Register for the day and attend as many of the sessions as you would like. The day is appropriate for all children ages 3+. Highlights of the day include: Circuit Training Class: From 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. join us at the University Y for a fun circuit training class for you and your kids! This class will take you through agility, strength, cardio and flexibility exercises with intervals of all intensities. Join us for this obstacle-like circuit class and show your kids how fun fitness can be! All levels are encouraged to join. No prior experience is needed. Campus Scavenger Hunt: From 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. embark on an adventure to interesting locations around the Tacoma campus! Follow the clues, collect the answers, and take a photograph at each location. Complete the hunt and claim the prizes! This scavenger hunt requires nothing more than a printed map and your cell phone. Urban Studies Presentation and Tour: From 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. Anaid Yerena, PhD, Assistant Professor in Urban Studies, will break down how Urban Studies relates the community and the Tacoma region into an easy to understand and engaging way. It will also include a mini tour around campus. Don’t miss this fascinating presentation! Free Time: From 12:00 p.m. on the time is yours! Grab some lunch, visit your department, or share your favorite UW Tacoma spot with your kids! IMPORTANT: Check with your supervisor if you are uncertain if your department is able to participate in Take Our Kids to Work Day.
