It's All Greek to Me - linocut and vinyl block prints by Amanda Kindregan

Artist Reception: Sat. Feb 6th 5 - 7 pm

For this new group of prints, Ms. Kindregan takes certain liberties with the Classical Greek Myths. Deities, creatures, and nymphs mingle in images of everyday ancient life, some true to mythology, and some placed in modern context.

Amanda Kindregan is a painter and printmaker with a BFA in Painting from the University of Washington (1995). Her preferred mediums are linoleum and vinyl block printing, and painting with gouache on paper. Her influences come from the past: Picasso and Warhol for their paintings and prints, but especially for their lovely line drawings; and by mid-century illustrators including Mary Blair and Hilary Knight. Ms. Kindregan lives in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley with her husband and two daughters.

Over the past four decades, artist John Buck has created a large and important body of work made up of woodblock prints, rubbings, sculpture and three-dimensional wood panels. Tough-minded and visually complex, Buck’s art is saturated with a deep richness of images, icons, symbols, motifs and an intensely lyrical and authentic evocation of both the natural and the social worlds...

Forest Restoration-West Duwamish Greenbelt

Nature Consortium hosts volunteer work parties year round several times per week. Currently we are working Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10am-2pm in the West Duwamish Greenbelt located in West Seattle. Each work party begins with a short informal forest ecology workshop. During the fall and winter we remove invasive species, mulch, and plant native plants and trees in the Seattle's largest remaining forest! Other seasons are devoted to maintenance and monitoring. Performing artists "play in the woods" during many of our work parties, and include singers, instrumentalists, and dancers.
RSVP is mandatory for all work parties as our locations vary. The address posted is our office!

John Buck: Iconography

Over the past four decades, artist John Buck has created a large and important body of work made up of woodblock prints, rubbings, sculpture and three-dimensional wood panels. Tough-minded and visually complex, Buck’s art is saturated with a deep richness of images, icons, symbols, motifs and an intensely lyrical and authentic evocation of both the natural and the social worlds...
