Event description: The “Printmaking Extravaganza”, at North Tahoe Arts in February, the exhibit hangs from 2/1 to 2/27. Artists; Candace Nicol, Larry Hunt, Sue Gross, Cathy McClelland, and Janet Martin will exhibit a genre of printmaking techniques from, wood cut, collagraph assemblage, screen prints, silk screening, metal etching, monotype, relief and intaglio to name a few. Larry Hunt states, “Art should make life more enjoyable to the viewer at the time it is being viewed, as life should make art enjoyable to the artists as it is being created”. Larry is an artist at the Co-Op Gallery in Reno and has selected pieces at various galleries in that area. Sue Gross noted North Tahoe printmaker shares her expertise hosting printmaking classes during the summers and exhibits in local galleries. Cathy McClelland joins us; you may not know that she is a printmaker as well as a very accomplished acrylic painter. Janet Martin is an artisan here at North Tahoe Arts and is best known for her glass art, but little did we know that her secrete specialty is printmaking. Event description: The “Printmaking Extravaganza”, at North Tahoe Arts in February, the exhibit hangs from 2/1 to 2/27. Artists; Candace Nicol, Larry Hunt, Sue Gross, Cathy McClelland, and Janet Martin will exhibit a genre of printmaking techniques from, wood cut, collagraph assemblage, screen prints, silk screening, metal etching, monotype, relief and intaglio to name a few. Candace Nicol owner of Oxboo Press in Reno has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Her work hangs in permanent collections throughout the world. Larry Hunt states, “Art should make life more enjoyable to the viewer at the time it is being viewed, as life should make art enjoyable to the artists as it is being created”. Larry is an artist at the Co-Op Gallery in Reno and has selected pieces at various galleries in that area. Sue Gross noted North Tahoe printmaker shares her expertise hosting printmaking classes during the summers and exhibits in local galleries. Cathy McClelland joins us; you may not know that she is a printmaker as well as a very accomplished acrylic painter. Janet Martin is an artisan here at North Tahoe Arts and is best known for her glass art, but little did we know that her secrete specialty is printmaking. Artists reception is the second Friday, February 10, 5-7 pm. Wine and appetizers served. All are welcome at North Tahoe Arts in Tahoe City next door to the fire station.
