Description | Ms. Blanchard is currently a PhD student of Geography at the University of Kansas. She holds a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous & American Indian Studies from Haskell Indian Nations University. Her work addresses the challenges and opportunities that Indigenous Peoples face in relation to climate change and climate justice. She has organized workshops connecting Tribes in the Southwest and South central U.S. with climate scientists and interviewed numerous Tribal members about their perspectives on climate change. She is active in Indigenous Peoples Climate Change Working Group, Rising Voices of Indigenous Peoples in Weather and Climate Science and the Indigenous Peoples Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers. Paulette seeks to continue supporting Tribal capacity to address climate change. |
