The Institute for Global Engagement (IGE), in collaboration with the Center for Brazilian Studies, is pleased to welcome Sociology Professor Gilmar Santana of the Federal University of Rio Rande de Norte in Brazil, for a special guest lecture on Wednesday next week, February 15th. This will be at 12.30-1.20pm in CP 325. The lecture will be hosted by SIAS & Global Honors Senior Lecturer Margaret Griesse, and Jackson School of International Studies Professor Jonathan Warren. Professor Santana will lecture on "Brazil, culture and politics". He is knowledgeable about the theater of the oppressed and has done research on Brazilian film and music as it relates to politics. All UWT students, faculty and staff are warmly invited to attend, and encouraged to promote the opportunity to all who may be interested.
