Event Speakers: • Dr. Sam Wasser from University of Washington, will talk about his work using dogs to sniff out orcas so he can analyze their health. Through this work, Dr. Wasser has shed light on the toxics affecting our orcas. We will also explore where these toxics are coming from and discuss changes that everyone can make to reduce the amount of pollution reaching our orcas. • Nancy Uding from Toxic-Free Future will talk about where toxics are coming from and about some simple steps everyone can take to reduce the amount of pollution reaching our orcas. • Ryan Cruz from Citizens for a Healthy Bay will frame the conversation in a local context by recounting Tacoma’s transition from a toxic legacy toward cleaner waters.
