The Brian Coffey Lecture brings leading voices in the study of spatial information and urban environments to the University of Washington Tacoma. It is an opportunity for our community to interface with the big ideas that are driving spatial data, urban research, and innovation. Special guest speaker: David O'Sullivan, UC Berkely Talk Title: Some Translation Required: Or, a city is not a network either! David O’Sullivan is Associate Professor of Geography and Chancellor’s Professor at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests are in simulation models and geographic complexity, urban neighborhood change, geographical methods, and the social and political implications of geospatial technology. He is the author of over fifty peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and (with David Unwin) of Geographic Information Analysis (2010) and (with George Perry) of Spatial Simulation: Exploring Pattern and Process (2013) All faculty, staff, and students invited. |
