The Puerto Rican Cultural of Charlotte presents its first Puerto Rican Festival in celebration of the Discovery of Puerto Rico. The event will feature authentic food, music, poetry, dance and arts/crafts. Live music by Los Coquis de Las Carolinas, Chino Kantazo, AV Alvarado, 4 year old Anthony Vasquez and the great salsa sound of Orquesta Mayor.

Houston Peruvian Festival Experience the Wonders of Peru

The event will showcase the culture, people,art,music,food and drinks of Peru. Join us in the Historic Heights district at the new luxurious M2Squared Gallery, 339 19th Street. Come Friday or Saturday evening when the festivities begin at 7:00pm until midnight. Enjoy, art, music,dance,shopping,food and drinks. Learn about the interesting culture of the Peruvian people. There will also be a silent auction both evenings. Sunday is Family Day from 1:00pm until 6:00pm. There will be hands on Peruvian crafts for the children,live alpaca animals to see and touch and much more.
Admission is only a $10.00 CASH donation with every adult receiving one free drink ticket. On Family Day children under 12 get free admission with the first 250 children being rewarded a goodie bag. Food & drink tickets can be purchased at the door.
100% of the proceeds will benefit the Sunshine Camps (Austin, TX) & Children's Charity Programs endorsed by the American Embassy in Lima Peru.

HOUSTON- November 21, 2009 The Flavors Festival will take place at the Discovery Green Park, 1500 McKinney Houston, TX 77002, the Festival, which last from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
D’Mizonett Events and the Houston Food Bank join forces to help supports hungry families in times when most of us celebrate Thanksgiving dinners. The mission of the Flavors Festival is to unite people from different cultures with common interests such as the love for good food and entertainment. This Festival brings you a rich variety of flavors in every way you can imagine, with the purpose of collecting food to feed thousands of hungry families through the Houston Food Bank.
Inspired by the desire of helping the community and promoting relationships among different cultures; Jorge Maisonet founder of D’Mizonett Events organized the Flavors Festival to celebrate international foods and benefit The Houston Food Bank. “We are working hand by hand with the Houston Food Bank to help them fill pantries and lives.”
Wake up early and don’t let pass all the fun and the entertainment that the Flavors Festival brings to you. The main stage will feature Cooking with the Stars shows with renowned celebrities such as the Houston Dynamo players and constant live performances. The audience will enjoy the Chef’s Tables where Culinary Institutes will demonstrate Thanksgiving recipes, The Cooking Corner with Houston’s Signature Chefs performing cooking shows every hour during the festival, and the Eating Competitions. WHAT: Downtown Houston will deck the halls this holiday season with the second annual Downtown Holiday Spectacular, a seasonal celebration filled with family traditions and community events perfectly packaged by the Downtown District to draw Houstonians and visitors to downtown throughout the season.

Kicking off Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, and continuing throughout December, the Downtown Holiday Spectacular will bring the spirit of the season to the streets of downtown.

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Holiday décor featuring peppermint sticks, snowflakes and 25-ft. festive trees with jeweled red, green and white LED lights will illuminate Main Street Square.

- Discovery Green will be transformed into an outdoor winter wonderland, featuring a 7,200-sq.-ft. outdoor ice skating rink and a variety of family-friendly programming like skating with Santa and movies on the big screen.

- The Theater District will present much-loved favorites like A Christmas Carol at The Alley Theater, White Christmas at The Hobby Center and The Nutcracker at The Wortham Theater Center.

- While visitors shouldn’t miss holiday traditions like the Mayor’s Holiday Celebration, the H-E-B Holiday Parade or Breakfast with Santa at The Aquarium, there are new family favorites to enjoy like pet adoptions, festive music at the House of Blues and holiday shopping at Macy’s and Houston Pavilions.

- Last but not least, the Downtown Holiday Spectacular is the city’s best way to do more for less this holiday season. The free, family-friendly trolleys are available to downtown visitors, allowing them to experience multiple downtown destinations. Free to visitors, Main Street Square offers a winter wonderland filled with dazzling holiday décor and twinkling lights, while Discovery Green showcases professional skaters and festive live music.
