Academic Advising

In preparation for Summer/Fall 2010 course registration, all students must meet with their academic advisors during the pre-registration advising period to formulate an academic plan and to obtain a Registration Access Code (RAC) information sheet.

Students who do not plan to continue their education at Taylor for the fall 2010 semester should notify the Office of Student Development of their intent to withdraw from the University.

Candidates for May—August 2011 Graduation must meet with their advisors to complete the Graduation Application & Agreement. Approved applications and course substitutions validated by the department chair (if applicable) must be submitted along with the RAC sheet to the Registrar’s Office before the registration PIN will be released for priority registration. The application deadline is May 1, 2010.

Candidates for Summer 2010 Graduation will not receive RAC sheets from their advisors. By May 1, students must submit add/drop and/or specific registration forms approved by their advisor for Taylor courses to be completed during the summer term; the Registrar’s Office will enroll students in their respective courses. Summer graduation candidates completing courses at other institutions over the summer must submit transfer credit course evaluation forms (with appropriate approval signatures) and confirmation of enrollment to the Registrar by May 1. Summer graduation candidates may participate in Commencement provided they have no more than 8 credit hours remaining and have submitted to the Registrar by May 1, an approved plan to complete these hours by the respective official summer graduation date.

Students who have completed 75+ hours and do not anticipate graduating during the 2010-2011 academic year, must meet with their advisors to receive their RAC sheets. Students should present their RAC sheets to the Registrar’s Office to receive their registration PIN for priority registration.

Graduate Students: TOWER Enabled for Summer/Fall 2010 Advance Registration

All students must meet with their academic advisors during the pre-registration advising period to formulate an academic plan and to obtain a Registration Access Code (RAC) information sheet in preparation for summer/fall 2010 course registration.

Candidates for May-August 2011 Graduation must meet with their advisors to complete the Graduation Application & Agreement. Approved applications and course substitutions validated by the department chair (if applicable) must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office by May 1, 2010.

Continuing students may register for Summer/Fall 2010 classes using TOWER, April 13-30. Registration priority is determined by cumulative earned hours with priority given to students with the most hours. This priority determines when the RAC and TOWER time ticket will be enabled. Students should register as soon as their RAC is enabled to avoid losing their priority registration position; however, students should not leave class early or miss class to do so.
