 event is part of the Black History Month Celebration.\n\nRacism was evid
 ent in the South during the 1950s which led to an unfair trial of a youn
 g man by the name of Emmett Till. The fourteen year old Chicago native w
 as visiting his family in Mississippi when he was accused of offending a
  white colored woman in a grocery store owned by her husband. The woman’
 s husband and brother-in-law kidnapped Till from his relatives and beat 
 him to death. Till’s body was found several days in a nearby river. The 
 all white jury acquitted the woman’s husband and her brother-in-law. Joi
