“Heart & Soul: Jazz Up Your Life” 7th Annual Red Dress Fashion Show & Health Fair

The event promotes cardiac health in women and features fashions designed by UIW students. Enjoy heart healthy appetizers and a variety of special activities and exhibits while providing information on the importance of maintaining a heart healthy lifestyle.

Keynote speaker: Jan Tilley, MS RD LD, President of Jan Tilley & Associates, a nutrition consulting firm promoting healthy living through nutrition and fitness. Tilley is an author and registered dietitian. The event will culminate with the Red Dress fashion show, showcasing garments specifically designed and constructed by UIW student designers.

The event is held in support of the American Heart Association and their Go Red campaign. The event is free and open to the public.

Women’s Global Connection Presentation

Tomás E. Rodríguez Alas is an expert on the impact of microfinance – the practice of lending small amounts of money to people with little or no income. He has seen how small loans to purchase seeds for a new crop, or a loan to start a tortilla bakery, or one to open a beverage kiosk in the local market dramatically improves the lives of individuals, families and communities. He is in the U.S. during Lent to raise awareness about hunger. The event is sponsored by Women’s Global Connection.
