DESCRIPTION:Cedarville\, Ohio – This year Cedarville University is celeb
rating their 125th year since its charter back in 1887. In recognition o
f this anniversary\, an historical exhibit has been placed in the Biblic
al Heritage Gallery\, located in the Center for Biblical and Theological
Studies. \nThe exhibit opened in January and will remain in the galler
y until October. It is free and open to the public. The focus of the exh
ibit is to highlight important people\, events and accomplishments that
have marked University’s history.\n“Getting a sense of heritage helps us
appreciate what we have today\,” says Lynn Brock\, dean of library serv
ices\, and gallery curator. \nThe gallery is broken into segments that
hone in on key time periods. The exhibit starts with the birth and creat
ion of Cedarville College\, made possible by the financial support and l
eadership of people in the Reformed Presbyterian Church. Without these e
fforts and sacrifices\, Cedarville College would never have opened its d
oors to students in the early 1890s. \nThe exhibit highlights some of th
e challenges along the way\; facing pressures of World War I\, the Great
Depression\, and World War II. These events created financial instabili
ty and enrollment difficulties which were heightened by poor leadership
in the 1940s. On the verge of closing\, ownership of the College was ass
umed by the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland and the College was re-
launched in 1953 under the leadership of Dr. James Jeremiah\, who led th

ntly under the leadership of Dr. Bill Brown\, Cedarville University is n
ow embarking on new ventures in marketing\, graduate programs\, financia
l revenue enhancement\, and alternate delivery of education. \nThe exhib
it captures the passion and determination of many who gave their hearts
and time to the University\, which made today’s Cedarville possible.\n“W
e are paving the way for future generations\,” says Brock. \n Located i
 n southwest Ohio\, Cedarville University attracts 3\,300 undergraduate\,

DESCRIPTION:Leader: Jim Simpson (433-3649). Come see how an industrial
site in northwest Hamilton County has been converted to an extraordinary
wildlife habitat. The Fernald Feed Materials Center was once at the hea
rt of the cold war\, a key stopover in the processing of uranium used in
nuclear weapons. Over the past 20 years\, the facility – hundreds of bu
ildings and thousands of acres – has been decommissioned\, decontaminate
d\, and converted into a wildlife refuge. A mix of grasslands\, wetlands
\, and some upland forests\, this preserve has attracted an impressive v
ariety of birds in its short history\, including the notorious Garganey
last spring (2011). Excellent habitat exists for grassland birds such as
Bobolink\, Dickcissel\, and Grasshopper Sparrow. Directions (other rout
es may be found on-line): From Dayton\, go south on I-75 to I-275 west.
Follow it to the Blue Rock Road exit\, follow Blue Rock to the west (fa
irly winding). After crossing the Great Miami River\, turn left onto Riv

rating their 125th year since its charter back in 1887. In recognition o
f this anniversary\, an historical exhibit has been placed in the Biblic
al Heritage Gallery\, located in the Center for Biblical and Theological

ibit is to highlight important people\, events and accomplishments that
have marked University’s history.\n“Getting a sense of heritage helps us
appreciate what we have today\,” says Lynn Brock\, dean of library serv
ices\, and gallery curator. \nThe gallery is broken into segments that
hone in on key time periods. The exhibit starts with the birth and creat

eadership of people in the Reformed Presbyterian Church.
James Jeremiah\, who led th
e institution for 25 years. The leadership of Dr. Paul Dixon led the uni
versity for another 25 years to its current transitional period. \nCurre
ntly under the leadership of Dr.

James Jeremiah\, who led th
e institution for 25 years. The leadership of Dr. Paul Dixon led the uni
versity for another 25 years to its current transitional period. \nCurre
ntly under the leadership of Dr.
\n Located i
 n southwest Ohio\, Cedarville University attracts 3\,300 undergraduate\,
graduate\, and online students to more than 100 areas of study. Celebra
ting 125 years of education excellence\, Cedarville is a Christ-centered
learning community recognized nationally for rigorous academic programs
\, strong graduation and retention rates\, accredited professional and h
ealth science offerings\, and leading student satisfaction ratings. Visi
