Whether you're looking for love, in it, lost it, or think Cupid is ridiculous, you won't want to miss the Valentine’s Cabaret, a fun-filled evening featuring songs about the ups and downs of that crazy little thing called love.

For two performances only, the members of The Richmond Men’s Chorus and The Richmond Women’s Chorus, directed by Artistic Director Tim Gillham, and accompaniment by Steve Austin, is the cure to candy, hearts and flowers. The Valentine's Cabaret features solos, duets and ensembles from members of the choruses singing Broadway, pop, standards and country hits.

The World/Inferno Friendship Society is a cabaret punk band from Brooklyn, New York. Its style merges punk, klezmer, and gospel, while its collective membership features horns, piano, guitar, a number of percussionists, as well as a variety of other instruments such as accordion, xylophone and orchestra bells.

This musical collective has historically had over 30 members, including former members of Dexys Midnight Runners. Usually one can expect to see about nine or ten members on-stage when they perform. The group is led by singer Jack Terricloth and guitarist Lucky Strano, who have been the most constant members throughout the group’s history. Terricloth is known for his pointed commentary during shows: his monologues have touched on politics, his transformation from the “old school,” and baiting of bouncers which usually end up with the band buying drinks for the whole staff.

In this once-in-a-lifetime concert experience Dudamel will lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Simón Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, combined with multiple choirs and soloists in Mahler’s “Symphony of a Thousand” (No. 8), the apotheosis of the Romantic symphony. This live performance will put more than 1,000 musicians on the stage in Caracas, Venezuela, giving North American audiences a chance to witness Dudamel making music on his home turf.

Audiences will experience enhanced behind-the-scenes content which will include special footage from Caracas. This exceptional presentation is the climactic performance of The Mahler Project – one of the pinnacles of the LA Phil’s 2011/12 season – which features the complete symphonic cycle presented in both Los Angeles and Caracas.
