With Janis Carroll-Lind, Principal Advisor (Education), Office of the Children’s Commissioner, • Bullying in Schools: your child’s rights, • Stopping bullying: changing the whole school culture, fostering safe reporting systems, or cracking down on individual bullies?, • How to help change the culture of bullying, JANIS CARROLL-LIND is principal education adviser for the Office of the Children’s Commission. In late 2009, Janis headed the Commission’s inquiry into bullying in schools, which involved reviewing bullying research, holding focus groups and school case studies, and consulting young people. The inquiry made far-reaching recommendations for New Zealand schools, and also warned that victims could sue teachers and schools that are slack in dealing with bullying.
