xNorthcult Exhibition - "Revelation"

Following on from the hugely successful The Unknown, Revelation is the second of six exhibitions that form the initial cycle of xNorthcult events and features work from world-renowned painter and ceramicist Nicholas Eastwood. He will be delivering a short illustrated introduction to his abstract art on the launch night, which will feature some of the music that has inspired his work.
As well as more from xNorthcult favourites Lawson E. Rudge, Lee Godfrey and Darcane Arts, Revelation also features work from southwest artists Alistair IW Campbell, Ben Bennett and Michael Buckland.
The exhibition is previewed on Friday 05th September 2008 with a sparkling reception for press and VIP’s. The doors then open to the public from 7.30pm
To help celebrate the second launch, there will be exciting music from Cornish based outfit The Harry Munk Project who have supported Space Ritual (Nik Turner from Hawkwind) and Asian Dub Foundation. Their amazing sound fuses house, drum and bass and Ska rhythms with live drums and the mesmerising voice of lead singer Lenni. This will be followed by a live set from Exeter’s Jam the Channel DJ’s.
The exhibition will run from 05th September until 08th November. The café and bar is open Monday - Friday for lunch between 12-2pm. FREE

The annual Royal Marines Commando Challenge is just round the corner and organisers are looking for teams to take part in the 2008 event on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October.
Annually 4,000 people enter this ‘military' style event which is fully supported by the Royal Marines from the nearby Commando Training Centre who take great pleasure in introducing Teams to such obstacles as ‘peters pool', ‘the crocodile pit' and the ‘sheep dip'. Plymouth Farmers' Market

With around 25 stalls setting up every month selling a wide variety of local produce, the city centre farmers’ market is a lively and bustling market to visit. Situated by the sundial in the heart of the city centre shoppers can source produce, which has been reared, grown or made by local farmers.

Visitors to the market can expect to find locally reared ostrich meat, pork, beef, lamb; locally grown strawberries and vegetables, plus locally produced cheeses, chutney, pies and pasties.

Due to the success and popular demand by both food producers and the public, the farmers’ market is in town twice a month on the second and fourth Saturday of every month at the Piazza, by the sundial, 9am to 4.30pm. Please use the 'Farmers market calendar' link on the left for up to date forthcoming farmers market dates.

The 'Producers' link on the left will also give you a list of the stalls that you can expect to find at the farmers market, this is currently being updated to reflect the 2008 season.

Cullompton Farmers' Market

Monthly farmers' markets have been held in Cullompton since 10 June 1998 and each of them has been equally well attended and as successful as the first. Local people regularly attend the market as they know they can purchase fresh, quality food. The number of stalls has been increased to 28 and buffalo ice cream, trees, cider, honey and fudge have been added to the already wide range of produce. The markets always have a unique atmosphere helped by music provided by local school bands and children's entertainers.
