YLT AUDITIONS - DREAMGIRLS

APPOINTMENTS RECOMMENDED! Call 717-854-3894 or email eric@ylt.org. Participation in YLT productions is always free. No experience necessary. Auditions are open to everyone; shows are never pre-cast.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Prepare a song in the style of Motown/Pop/Broadway that demonstrates character range as well as vocal range. *No longer than 1 minute.
2. Come dressed comfortably for a dance audition.
3. Resumes and headshots welcome but NOT required.

Effie White, female, full-figured lead singer of the Dreams, Age Range 20-30, Vocal Range strong belt
Deena Jones, female, young, thing, beautiful member of the Dreams, Age Range 18-27, Vocal Range mezzo
Lorrell Robinsons, female, 3rd "Dream", Age Range 18-30, Vocal Range soprano
Michelle Morris, female, Effie's replacement, Age Range 18-30, Vocal Range belt
Curtis Taylor, Jr., male, Dreams manager, Age Range 25-40, Vocal Range tenor
James "Thunder" Early, male, James-Brown-like star, Age Range 25-40, Vocal Range tenor
C.C., male, Effie's songwriter bother, Age Range 18-32, Vocal Range bari-tenor
Marty, male, veteran music agent, Age Range 25-45, Vocal Range bari
The Stepp Sisters, female, 4-girl group, Age Range 18-30, Vocal Range 4-part harmony
Little Albert & the Tru-Tones, male, singing quintet, Age Range 18-30, Vocal Range 5-part harmony
Tiny Joe Dixon, male, blues singer, Age Range 20-40, Vocal Range bass
Ensemble, 10 females, 10 males, Diverse ensemble to fill over 40 cameo roles, Age Range 18-50, Vocal Range all.
All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Audition Requirements: This is an "American Idol" style audition; prepare a short -- 30 to 60 second -- song to sing without musical accompaniment. The judges will immediately tell you if you are going to callbacks.

If you are not confident in your singing but would like to try out for a dance part, you still must sing at this audition. Note on your audition sheet that you are auditioning for a dance role. Everyone must try the singing audition.

Callbacks will be May 22 at the Pullo Center @ 5:00 PM.
