ST. MARY MERCY HOSPITAL SELECTS TRUMBA TO BRING ADVANCED FUNCTIONALITY TO ITS ONLINE EVENT CALENDARS
Community Hospital Uses Trumba Connect To Deliver Event Information to Its Key Constituents
SEATTLE, WA, March 12, 2007 – Trumba Corporation, a developer of innovative online calendaring solutions, today announced that St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, MI, has selected its Trumba Connect online calendaring solution to bring advanced functionality to its online event calendars. Trumba Connect is powering multiple event calendars for St. Mary Mercy, both internally on its Intranet for physicians, staff and volunteers, and externally on its public Web site for patients and their families, donors, board members, and the local community. Trumba Connect helps organizations increase event awareness and attendance and better connects them with their audiences through a comprehensive suite of tools that includes a hosted, interactive web calendar, email and reporting services.
St. Mary Mercy Hospital is a non-profit hospital that provides acute-care medical and health services to the surrounding community. St. Mary Mercy Hospital hosts a number of health-related events such as fitness classes, support groups and health education programs. Before using Trumba Connect, the hospital relied mainly on event flyers and press releases that were posted on the hospital’s Web site and to the local print media, as well as its Life & Health direct mail community newsletter. In a community that is making more use of the Internet, St. Mary Mercy began looking for a more interactive, full-featured, yet simple to maintain solution to add event information to its Web site. The hospital initially deployed Trumba Connect internally on its Intranet to communicate information about upcoming events for staff and volunteers, such as town hall meetings, holiday meals, volunteer days, etc. After recognizing the rich features and functionality of the Trumba Connect solution, the hospital decided to deploy it on its external Web site as a two-way, interactive communications vehicle for delivering event information to the public.
“This type of solution has been long overdue. When we started planning the redesign of our Web site, having an easy-to-use, interactive event calendar was a top priority,” said Tonya Thomas, Webmaster and Production Specialist at St. Mary Mercy Hospital. “Having already realized the benefits of Trumba Connect’s features and functionality on our Intranet, we knew we could quickly and easily integrate a dynamic event calendar on our external Web site as well. Through Trumba’s dashboard reports, we are able to track usage and have experienced an increase in site traffic.”
Trumba calendars are interactive, so end-customers can connect with, rather than simply view, an organization’s events by adding them to their personal calendars; setting event reminders; forwarding event information to friends, family, and associates; subscribing to email updates and RSS feeds; and more. In addition, reporting tools help organizations monitor the success of their event promotion by tracking the number of times an event page is viewed, how many end users add an event to their personal calendars, and other data.
“As more and more people are turning to the Internet to get event information, access to this information needs to be easy to find and delivered in a way that is intuitive,” said Jeremy Jaech, CEO and president of Trumba. “Trumba Connect is a perfect solution for community hospitals like St. Mary Mercy that are looking for ways to stay better connected to their citizens and create greater awareness for their programs and events. It enables them to actively engage their constituents, while also providing them with a convenient medium for finding and acting upon event information that really matters.”
