Heartland Humane Society Hosts "Tails & Trails"

Heartland Humane Society invites the community to Tails & Trails in Vermillion. The event will be held at Cotton Park in Vermillion on November 7th from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Registration will begin at 9:00 am. Tails & Trails features a walk – with or without your 4-legged friend, fun contests, door prizes and refreshments for participants. Heartland Humane Society’s adoptable dogs will also be on hand to meet and walk with. Donations to the shelter will be accepted as well, benefiting the spay and neuter program. Gail Dooley Concert

Gail Dooley, Assistant Professor of Music at Morningside College will be performing a concert of music at the South Sioux City Public Library on Saturday November 7th at 1:00 p.m. Gail Dooley, associate professor of music, teaches voice, diction for singers, song literature and vocal pedagogy. She is also the director of the Morningside Opera Theatre. She performs regularly both in solo recitals and as a guest soloist with performing ensembles in Sioux City. Dooley's students perform regularly on campus and throughout the Siouxland community, performing major roles in Morningside College Opera Theatre and Musical Theatre productions. Hospice of Siouxland Offering Volunteer Training

Compassionate men and women are being sought to take volunteer training planned by Hospice of Siouxland. A training class has been set for the Hawarden area, to be held at Hawarden Hospital's conference room. Dates for the training are: November 9, 12, 16 and 19 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Hospice of Siouxland is currently offering volunteer training for three health and community-based programs - Hospice, Palliative Care and Siouxland PACE. 2nd Annual “Shoes for Veterans”

The Sioux City Iowa Workforce Development Center will host our 2nd Annual “Shoes for Veterans” event. This Benefit is for a young wife and mother. Her name is Gala Padgett Schroeder, she lives in Early, Iowa. She was just married Sept. 13th and 2 wks later diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma. Ladies of Glendale Baptist Church - Annual Pie Bake Project

Ladies of Glendale Baptist Church are having their Annual Pie Bake Project to help accomplish their fall Missionary goals. Last year over 500 pies were sold in our Sioux City area. Many enjoy ordering them to serve at their Thanksgiving Dinner, as the Pick-Up Date is Wednesday, 11/25/09.
