The WAC’s most popular annual summer event saw an upset last year when the three-time champion team was defeated. Will the team regain its title, or will a new team cruise to victory? Begin by selecting someone to be captain and pilot of your 10-person electric Duffy boat before heading into a heated (but friendly) competition afloat. As you race around Lake Union, your mission is to solve a list of crafty clues and puzzling riddles to determine the identity of items visible from the lake. You have two hours to complete the task. The first boat to return with the most correct answers wins a prize. Each year the scavenger hunt has a new set of clues, so everyone has a fair shot. Since you’ll be burning up brain fuel, plentiful platters of finger foods, sweets, bottled water, and soft drinks are included onboard. You also may bring your own beer or wine to help energize your creative thinking. Put together your own team of 10, or we’ll partner you at the dock when we meet on the west side of Lake Union. Kirkland Art & More

Besides being a scenic destination along the Lake Washington shore, Kirkland holds the distinction of being the Northwest city with the most art in its public places. Join Club Programs’ Robert Laurent as he leads a walking tour of a dozen or more whimsical, dynamic and poignant sculptures and artworks that adorn the downtown commercial area’s parks, sidewalks and intersections. Begin in the city center with The Natural, Carousel and other works near Peter Kirk Park and the library. Information on each artist and sculpture will be provided, with discussion encouraged. Then enjoy lunch at nearby Trellis Restaurant in The Heathman Hotel, which serves locally sourced food and grows its own herbs. After lunch, the walking tour continues as we visit more outdoor sculptures and then stop in Park Lane’s Howard/Mandville Gallery, which has one of the largest collections of fine art in the Seattle area. Here we will have a tour of paintings and other forms of art. Then we’ll head to the famous Cow and Coyote sculpture… Type of Event: Arts & Entertainment. Escapades. Family Events. In the Know.
