ArtLab for Teens

One-Time Events (ages 13-17) This four-week program for teenagers explores the dynamic, diverse uses of color in art, from paintings and sculpture to film and installations. One-Time Events When Josef Albers came to the United States from Germany in 1933, he brought art and ideas grounded in utopian idealism and pure abstraction that he explored and shared through his career, including his tenure at Black Mountain College in North Carolina in the 1930s and 1940s and at Yale University in the 1950s. One-Time Events (ages 10-13) After visiting the exhibitions Josef Albers and ColorForms, artist-in-residence Zoe Charlton leads participants in creative projects inspired by works in these two exhibitions. Zoe Charlton is a Baltimore-based artist and assistant professor of art at American University whose drawings, videos, and installations deal with issues of identity.
