CFC 19th Annual Plant, Shrub & Tree Sale Pre-Order Deadline

Environment Citizens for Conservation will hold its 19th annual Native Plant, Shrub and Tree Sale on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from 9 a.m-3 p.m. A huge selection of robust, hardy native plants will be available for purchase and knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. Native plants provide many advantages for gardeners and the environment. They do not require fertilizers or pesticides which saves gardeners both time and money. In addition, their deep, fibrous root systems firmly anchor soil to help conserve water and prevent erosion. Native plants do not require watering, but instead provide food and shelter for birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Native forbs (flowering plants) and grasses can be pre-ordered but will also be available on the day of the sale. Trees and shrubs must be ordered in advance by April 10 for pick-up on Friday, May 1, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Environment Growing organic produce is good for the environment and for your palate. “Organic Power Vegetable Gardening” stresses using native plants to attract pollinators for prolific vegetable patches. Speaker Mark Lyons addresses site selection, soil preparation and earth-friendly maintenance of organic gardens. Both new and experienced gardeners will learn innovative techniques. Speaker Mark Lyons has been an avid vegetable gardener since childhood. Barrington Sesquicentennial 1865 Street Festival

Arts & Entertainment Experience an exciting day in Barrington 1865! To celebrate 150 years, the Village will feature an 1865 Street Festival in downtown Barrington at Cook and Station Streets from 3:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The event will transform the area into a historically themed extravaganza replete with old-time fanfare. There will be an extensive selection of small-plated fare, served by numerous local restaurants. This will include a pig roast, as well as other tasty treats of the era. In addition, Egg Harbor will be extending their hours for the day, as well. And Music!! It will be plentiful with performances by the Ragged Rascals, the BHS Jazz Band, and the Barrington Children’s Choir, as well as other groups. World's Largest Music Lesson

Fundraisers & Benefits Help The Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club “End Polio Now” and The Barrington Fine Arts Boosters fund its programming while breaking a world record and having fun. CFC 19th Annual Plant, Shrub & Tree Sale

Environment Citizens for Conservation will hold its 19th annual Native Plant, Shrub and Tree Sale on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from 9 a.m-3 p.m. A huge selection of robust, hardy native plants will be available for purchase and knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. Native plants provide many advantages for gardeners and the environment. They do not require fertilizers or pesticides which saves gardeners both time and money. In addition, their deep, fibrous root systems firmly anchor soil to help conserve water and prevent erosion. Native plants do not require watering, but instead provide food and shelter for birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Native forbs (flowering plants) and grasses can be pre-ordered but will also be available on the day of the sale. Trees and shrubs must be ordered in advance by April 10 for pick-up on Friday, May 1, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
