Citizens for Conservation hosts Open Prairie Walks

Environment Citizens for Conservation is hosting its third season of Interactive Self-Guided Prairie Walks at Flint Creek Savanna, located at CFC's Headquarters, 459 W. Hwy 22 in Lake Barrington. The preserve is open free to the public the first Sunday afternoon of each month, June through September, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The walk on June 5th will feature Shooting Stars on the prairie. Visitors might be surprised to see a Sandhill Crane pair or a beautiful iridescent tree swallow guarding its nesting box. This is a great time to visit the prairie when the grasses are at medium height and all the wildflowers in bloom can be easily seen. Be sure to wear good hiking shoes. Alzheimer's Association 14th Annual Forget Me Not Days

Fundraisers & Benefits Volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association by collecting donations and raising awareness of the disease. In exchange for a donation, volunteers hand out packets of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant in honor of the more than five million people living with Alzheimer's. Lyric Opera Hosts "Rising Star" Tenor
