The Quincy Public Library and the Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County present "A House Divided," with John Anderson as Abraham Lincoln. John Anderson is a Quincy native, who appeared in the movie “Psycho,” on the television programs “Bonanza,” and “Gunsmoke,’” and on stage. With over 500 acting credits John is well remembered for his fine character portrayals including Abraham Lincoln. Filmed entirely in Quincy, “A House Divided,” will be shown in celebration of Abraham Lincoln's birthday.

Applications will be accepted from 10:00am to Noon, and from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Monday through Thursday. The application deadline is Friday, March 15th. The 48th annual Dress-An-Angel Clothing Project is scheduled for Saturday, March 31st.
This program provides a new set of clothing for children from infants through age 12. Approximately 400 children will be provided with a new set of clothing for Easter. Every child will also receive a children’s version of the New Testament Bible.

John Wood Community College will host “College Goal Sunday” February 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. on the Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison. The free event is open to all JWCC district residents who need assistance filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
JWCC staff will assist with electronic filing of the FAFSA. Students or parents are asked to bring 2011 income tax information or their 2010 tax return to aid in the filing process. Estimated figures can be used on the form if 2011 income tax information is unavailable.
Families who have already electronically filed the FAFSA with estimated figures for 2012-2013 and 2011 taxes can receive assistance with the FAFSA IRS Data Retrieval Process. The IRS Data Retrieval Tool allows access to tax information to transfer data directly to the FAFSA.
Participants who file or update FAFSA information during College Goal Sunday may be entered to win a raffle for $100 following completion of a survey.

Forget all the book-to-movie adaptations coming to theaters this summer. Why not witness literature come to life on stage at a neighborhood theatre?
Quincy Community Theater Director Lenny Bart will discuss how a modern classic novel such as Elizabeth von Arnim's 1922 novel, The Enchanted April is adapted into a dramatic form for the theater. Bart will discuss the process beginning with the first idea through the play's premiere on the stage.

Dress-An-Angel Clothing Project Registration
Applications will be accepted from 10:00am to Noon, and from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Monday through Thursday. The application deadline is Friday, March 15th. The 48th annual Dress-An-Angel Clothing Project is scheduled for Saturday, March 31st.
This program provides a new set of clothing for children from infants through age 12. Approximately 400 children will be provided with a new set of clothing for Easter. Every child will also receive a children’s version of the New Testament Bible.

Get your Wii on at the Quincy Public Library as the library launches its new gaming program for teens called Wii Wednesdays. Don Hewes (Fred Astaire) is devastated when his longtime dancing partner, Nadine Hale (Ann Miller), breaks up the team to set out on her own. Determined to prove that he can succeed without her, Astaire vows that he can pick any random chorus girl and make her a star. Fortunately for him, the chorus girl he picks happens to be one of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century, Judy Garland (playing Hannah Brown). Easter Parade turned out to be the first and only collaboration between the two screen legends. Garland made the 1948 film despite ongoing health problems then had to pull out of a planned follow-up, The Barkleys of Broadway (Ginger Rogers replaced her); Astaire had retired following Blue Skies in 1946 but was brought in for this film as an emergency replacement after Gene Kelly broke his ankle playing touch football. Fortunately, Easter Parade always feels like an Astaire film rather than a Kelly film, from its Pygmalion-esque plot (which helps explain the principals' 23-year age disparity) to it…

Get your Wii on at the Quincy Public Library as the library launches its new gaming program for teens called Wii Wednesdays. Teens are invited to come and duke it out for the title of Wii bowler, tennis pro, dance queen and other Wii accolades. Every Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. the Wii cart will be set up in the small conference room directly across from the main circulation desk. After a hectic day at school, teens can take some time out to relax, gather with friends, share a snack and beat their BFF at Super Mario 2 or Just Dance 2.
