Cat Microchip Clinic

If your cat got out, how would you find it? Most cats entering local shelters are not microchipped. nor are they wearing id tags. Collars can present a problem for cats if they are not breakaway collars. The Humane Society of McDonough County and All Pets Veterinary Clinic will be sponsoring a microchip clinic for cats on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 722 W Jackson in Macomb. Cats will have a microchip implanted and information will be entered into a registry. Less than 2% of cats without microchips are returned home. The Pike County Senior Center in Pittsfield, IL presents a monthly Bluegrass Show as a service to the community. It is for all ages. Food and concessions are available. Annual Homemade Ice Cream Social

The Annual Ice Cream Social will be held at the historic St. Paul Catholic Church in Center, MO on Sunday, August 2nd.  The Social begins at 4:00 p.m. Homemade ice cream, cake, sandwiches and chips will be served. Owls of Illinois

Join us for a hootin’ good time and learn about the owls that inhabit Argyle Lake State Park.  Participants will learn about the owl’s many unique hunting adaptations and its diet by dissecting an owl pellet. Dueling Diamonds and Denim

This kick-off event for the Western Illinois University Performing Arts Society will feature dueling piano entertainment by 176 Keys Fun Pianos. The Mark Twain Area Parkinson's Support Group is sponsoring The 10th Annual Hull of a Race 5K/10K Run Walk on Saturday, August 15th at the downtown park in Hull, IL. A Magical Night on the Mississippi

Join the The Salvation Army of Hannibal, Missouri for “A Magical Night on the Mississippi” to celebrate its 125th anniversary. Tickets are now available for a dinner cruise on the Mark Twain riverboat on Thursday, August 20. Boarding will be at 6 p.m. The two hour cruise departs at 6:30 p.m. The evening will include dinner, a souvenir photo, music provided by a Salvation Army brass band, and a featured performance by award-winning magician, Major Ed Jarvis, a former Hannibal officer. Tickets are $65 each or $125 a pair. They are available at the Hannibal Salvation Army Family Store at 302 Broadway or Picture Perfect Gallery and Framing at 308 North Main. Perinatal Bereavement Workshop: CEU's Available - Free!

On August 1, 2014, Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support began a three-year grant program focused on Awareness and Access to Perinatal Bereavement Care. The grant mission is to provide access to perinatal bereavement care throughout Missouri for families suffering the tragedy of pregnancy loss and infant death. Share will provide training and resources for caregivers from Missouri birthing hospitals and clinic provider networks to care for grieving families who currently have no access to care in their communities. Funding for this project is provided in whole by The Missouri Foundation for Health. The Missouri Foundation for Health is a philanthropic organization whose vision is to improve the Health of the people in the communities it serves. Share training provides the necessary information and skills for caregivers and hospitals to create the needed resources to provide Perinatal Bereavement Care in their own communities.
