The Planned Giving Council of Cape Cod is looking for Nominations for Distinguished Service to Philanthropy on Cape Cod and the Islands Awards.
Also, the Philanthropy Day Committee is pleased to announce a new category this year. Besides the Outstanding Volunteer, Outstanding Business, Outstanding Philanthropist, the committee is introducing a new category: Outstanding Youth/Youth Organization. This award will be presented to a youth or youth organization that has demonstrated outstanding philanthropic commitment through fundraising efforts and/or coordinating community involvement to benefit Cape Cod and the Islands.
All awards will be presented during the 13th annual Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod to be held at the Resort and Conference Center at Hyannis on November 4th, 2009. "Sarah" Sails in Hyannis

Sail back in time aboard the Sarah, a replica of an 1886 Herbert Crosby Catboat which was used for Scallop fishing on Lewis Bay during the late 19th century. Built in The Cape Cod Maritime Museum’s own boat shop, Sarah was a very popular boat building exhibit until her launch in September of 2007. Embarking on a good will tour of the Cape’s south shore, in collaboration with Historical Societies, Yacht Clubs and other organizations, Sarah will be available for historical excursions, charters and events from several ports of call all summer long. $25, $10 kids. An exhibition of watercolor paintings by Falmouth resident Louise Luckenbill
is on display at the Maser Gallery at FCTV Community Television, 310 Dillingham Avenue, from June 28 – July 30. Reception, 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 12.
Trained in embryonic development and neurobiology, Louise Luckenbill is as fascinated by the “flow and unpredictability of watercolor” as she is with science. “I view each painting as an experiment,” says Ms. Luckenbill, who creates a series of paintings of the same subject. “I find that several themes emerge as I explore this new way to communicate my thoughts and feelings through watercolor painting.”
Ms. Luckenbill has been taking watercolor painting classes for eight years at the Falmouth Artists Guild, Lesley University and the School of Museum of Fine Arts and Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu. "Sarah" Sails in Hyannis

Sail back in time aboard the Sarah, a replica of an 1886 Herbert Crosby Catboat which was used for Scallop fishing on Lewis Bay during the late 19th century. Built in The Cape Cod Maritime Museum’s own boat shop, Sarah was a very popular boat building exhibit until her launch in September of 2007. Embarking on a good will tour of the Cape’s south shore, in collaboration with Historical Societies, Yacht Clubs and other organizations, Sarah will be available for historical excursions, charters and events from several ports of call all summer long. $25, $10 kids.
