The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter, will offer a Babysitter Instructor training class on November 7, 2009 at the Chapter House on 286 South Street in Hyannis.
The course runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The class is designed to train instructor candidates to teach the basic-level Babysitter’s Training course. This course prepares instructor candidates to use program materials, conduct training sessions and evaluate the progress of course participants. Cost of the course is $100. Meet the Artist Doris Mee
Exhibits/Galleries
Doris will demonstrate her unique Mixed Media/Collage technique. She uses a wide variety of papers, which she hand paints in watercolor or acrylic in preparation for assembling her collage. She is particularly fond of oriental papers, which she’s been collecting for several years. Her works include both representational and non-representational subject matter.

The tradition of presenting original works at the Provincetown Theater Company continues this fall with the production of six new short plays and the stage reading of five original full-length plays. Over two weekends, the short plays will be staged four times and each full length play will be read once at difference dates.
The wealth of local Cape Cod playwrights makes this program possible as writers from Sandwich to Provincetown share their plays for the first time. The short plays run about 15 minutes each and create a full program together. The full-length readings each require a time slot of their own. Audiences can experience both the short plays and at least one full length reading the same day. Check the full schedule for details.

The tradition of presenting original works at the Provincetown Theater Company continues this fall with the production of six new short plays and the stage reading of five original full-length plays. Over two weekends, the short plays will be staged four times and each full length play will be read once at difference dates.
The wealth of local Cape Cod playwrights makes this program possible as writers from Sandwich to Provincetown share their plays for the first time. The short plays run about 15 minutes each and create a full program together. The full-length readings each require a time slot of their own. This course will provide an opportunity to work in the print studio with instruction and guidance for individual projects in a variety of printmaking methods. The format of the sessions is designed to benefit the serious, self-motivated individual who wants to work on a specific project or to experience printmaking in order to broaden a personal creative vocabulary. Some previous knowledge of printmaking is helpful but not mandatory. Instruction is individualized to meet the needs and interests of each participant and can include, but is not limited to, work in monotype, drypoint, mezzotint, relief, photopolymer intaglio, silk screen, and transfer processes.
