Cape Cod Meditation Circle

Clubs / Organizations The benefits of meditation are multiple. Through regular practice, subtle transformations take place in one’s body, mind, and inmost consciousness. Some of these benefits are experienced right away; others unfold progressively and may take more time to become apparent. Inner peace is one of the first fruits of meditation. Along with that come greater clarity, understanding, and guidance from within. Meditation brings objectivity and intuitive knowledge of how to address the problems that arise in the course of daily life. It improves one’s concentration and efficiency, and one’s attitude toward work. It harmonizes the life forces in the body, removing harmful stress and promoting health and vitality. Region: Mid Cape. Beekeeping for Beginners

Classes/Workshops The course will be taught by George Muhlebach, a hobby beekeeper for over 30 years, who has run the CCMNH bee program for the last eight years. George will cover the required hardware, the biology of the honey bee, bee keeping tasks through the seasons as well as the honey harvest. The Museum’s four outdoor hives will give the opportunity to get hands on experience on how to assemble the hardware, how to start a new hive (the “hiving procedure”) and how to assess the health of a developing hive. We will also discuss some of the recent results of current bee research. This course does not require any prior knowledge of beekeeping. It is designed to be of equal interest to the person who wants to get into beekeeping and to those who simply want to know more about the “busy bees” that provide us the delicious treat of honey and many of the fruits and vegetables.
