25th Annual Navajo Rug Show and Sale

The Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program is proud to sponsor the 25th anniversary of our Annual Rug Show and Sale, November 7th - 9th at Deer Valley's Snow Park Lodge in Park City, Utah. This year the theme is HONORING OUR WEAVERS. The Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program is a non-profit humanitarian organization that provides 525 traditional Navajo Elders with food, basic medicines, firewood, and other necessities throughout the year. Including family members, we serve over 3000 people on the reservation. The Rug Show allows 30 weavers and their families to come to Park City to share their culture with visitors and to sell their rugs and jewelry. They return home with all the proceeds from their sales. The Rug Show is a unique opportunity for visitors to see hundreds of rugs and perhaps take one home. This year our weavers were invited to create special rugs in which they feature themselves in a self-portrait weaving at their loom. ArtDenver

ArtDenver, an all-new indoor fine arts experience featuring national fine artists, Colorado makers, art installations, interior design and fashion, will take place Nov. 14, 15 and 16 at the Colorado Convention Center. Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century

The Denver Art Museum (DAM) will be the sole venue worldwide for Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century, on view November 16, 2014–March 15, 2015. Organized by the DAM, the exhibition will feature an assortment of jewelry, timepieces and precious objects produced between 1900 and 1975. The exhibition highlights Cartier’s rise to preeminence in the midst of historical events as it transformed itself into one of the world’s most prestigious names in jewelry, timepieces and objects. Telluride Fire Festival

Debuting January 15 – 19, the Telluride Fire Festival is an interactive community celebration of performance fire arts including displays and workshops with performers and sculptural artists. The festival will create an interactive fire art experience on Colorado Avenue (Main Street) and the plazas of Mountain Village. Twenty-five-foot-tall, fire-breathing “art cars,” artistic burn barrels and other huge, moving, fire-emitting art installations will line public spaces, and fire eaters and performers will dance down the streets. The festival is also collaborating with the local arts community including Telluride Arts, Ah Haa School for the Arts, and Deep Creek Experimental. Ah Haa School for the Arts is planning to present a photography workshop to teach people how best to capture fire art at night on film. The school is also creating a weekend creative fire cauldron workshop.
