My Fair Lady

The World’s Greatest Musical. Big League Productions Inc. presents a sparkling new production of the musical by which all others are measured. Based on Shaw’s “Pygmalion,” with book, music and lyrics by Lerner and Loewe, MY FAIR LADY is triumphant. With “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?” “The Rain in Spain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “On the Street Where You Live” and “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face.” It’s no wonder everyone–not just Henry Higgins–falls in love with Eliza Doolittle. The original Broadway production set a record for the longest run of any musical in history. It was followed by a hit London production, a popular film version starring Audrey Hepburn–which won 8 Academy Awards–and numerous revivals. It has been called “the perfect musical.” Tickets are available at the UNM Ticket Offices and select Albertson’s locations, by phone at (877) 664-8661 or (505) 925-5858, and online at unmtickets.com. Why Elevator Pitches Fail Miserably and How yours could be a Success

NAWBO is pleased to have Dave Meurer, CEO of Armed Response Team, as its guest speaker this month. In this era of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media websites, are we still doing in-person networking? Dave Meurer will share his insights on why he believes face-to-face networking is still one of the best ways to make a positive first impression and how that can help you build your business. Everyone knows they should have an “elevator pitch,” but the problem is most elevator pitches sound alike so they don’t create the powerful first impression that helps us be remembered. Just like any effective marketing or sales piece, like a brochure or website, an elevator pitch needs to be well-prepared and rehearsed to get great results. Dave Meurer will give you examples of what does and does not work. He’ll also share two do-it-yourself templates you can use to craft and perfect your own blockbuster elevator pitch. ceo@exhib-it.com. Region: Central New Mexico. Darynda Jones Book signing, reading

Book description: (recommended for Adult readers) In Jones’s high-energy third paranormal romantic thriller featuring smart, wickedly hilarious grim reaper and PI Charley Davidson (after 2011’s Second Grave on the Left), hunky son of Satan Reyes Farrow distracts Charley from her search for the missing wife of an egotistical doctor, who’s strangely unmoved by his wife’s disappearance. Every time Charley closes her eyes, she summons an intense, sexually ravenous Reyes, who angrily insists that she find his stepfather, whom he was falsely accused of killing. Meanwhile, a woman who eavesdrops on angels worries Charley about the upcoming death of someone destined to become her guardian, a motorcycle gang pleads for help finding a dog killer, and Charley’s family does everything they can to persuade her to go into less dangerous work. Jones pulls all the craziness together in the end while leaving plenty of open threads to pull the reader into the next installment.- Publishers Weekly Bio: Winner of the 2009 Gol… Region: Central New Mexico.
