Public Programs The Arrogant Years: One Girl’s Search for Her Lost Youth, from Cairo to Brooklyn with Lucette Lagnado Monday, March 5 at 11:30 am In her much-anticipated new memoir, Lucette Lagnado tells the story of her mother’s coming of age in a magical old Cairo. Lagnado then revisits her own early years in America—first, as a schoolgirl in Brooklyn’s immigrant enclaves and later, as a reporter for some of America’s most prestigious newspapers. Lucette Lagnado is an investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal. She is the author of the memoir, The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit. Public Programs Kehinde Wiley in Conversation with Lola Ogunnaike Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 pm One of the most significant young artists working today, American painter Kehinde Wiley discusses his latest series The World Stage: Israel. Opening March 9, the exhibition showcases vibrant large-scale portraits of Israeli youths, each embedded in a unique background inspired by Jewish ceremonial art. Lola Ogunnaike is one of the leading pop culture authorities in the country and is currently a Today Show contributor. She served as culture reporter for CNN and The New York Times and her articles have appeared in Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and New York Magazine.
