Oregon Geriatric Education Center Education About Alzheimer's Disease
This event is appropriate for physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, directors of long term care organizations who care for older adults, or anyone who is involved in caring for people with dementia.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will:
Have increased confidence to accurately recognize and assess for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD) using validated cognitive screening tools. , Understand how to manage AD within the context of other health conditions to optimize care of older adults with AD and their caregivers. , Have increased knowledge of available clinical trials and community resources for AD patients, their families, and their caregivers, and how to refer individuals and families to these resources. , Have increased understanding of assessment and management of caregiver burden and depression. , Accreditation
