One of the highlights of spring is the annual return of birds that have over wintered in the tropics. Join Environmental Educator, Darryl Speicher as he scours the fields and forests, swamps and streams of Monroe Co. on a quest to find 100 species of birds or more. Space in the van is limited to 12 participants, so register early. This event is all day and includes lunch. Pocono Alliance is accepting artwork donations from local artists for their upcoming fundraiser benefiting the Bridges Out of Poverty program.

The upcoming fundraiser will provide exposure to the artists in our community in addition to raising funds for the important Bridges Out of Poverty program. Members of the community will purchase tickets to the Wine and Cheese Fundraising Event and will be guaranteed a piece of art from our local artists at the event.
Bridges Out of Poverty is a program run by Pocono Alliance which enables individuals in Monroe County to move toward a life of self-sufficiency.

Quiet Valley's Farm Animal Frolic

Quiet Valley will host its 25th annual Farm Animal Frolic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, May 18 and 25 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays, May 19 and 26.
A true sign of spring on the farm is baby animals of all kinds being born. Quiet Valley has so far been blessed with the birth of 14 piglets, six bunnies, twin lambs and triplet kid goats with more births to come. Lots of chicks have hatched and more will be hatched in incubators during Frolic so visitors can watch this special sight. Ducklings will amuse guests as they climb up the ramp and then scoot down the duck slide.
In addition to the farm animals there are plenty of other fun activities like spinning, one room schoolhouse, bake oven, storytelling, games. There will be Sheep Shearing on Saturday, May 18 throughout most of the day. The Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will present a show on local wildlife at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Children under 3 years of age are free.

Quiet Valley will host its 25th annual Farm Animal Frolic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, May 18 and 25 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays, May 19 and 26.
A true sign of spring on the farm is baby animals of all kinds being born. Quiet Valley has so far been blessed with the birth of 14 piglets, six bunnies, twin lambs and triplet kid goats with more births to come. Lots of chicks have hatched and more will be hatched in incubators during Frolic so visitors can watch this special sight. Ducklings will amuse guests as they climb up the ramp and then scoot down the duck slide.
In addition to the farm animals there are plenty of other fun activities like spinning, one room schoolhouse, bake oven, storytelling, games. There will be Sheep Shearing on Saturday, May 18 throughout most of the day. The Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will present a show on local wildlife at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Children under 3 years of age are free.
