“Remembering Absalom Jones.” In this forum, the Reverend Dr. Sandye Wilson, Rector of the Episcopal Church of St Andrew & Holy Communion in South Orange, NJ, and former president of the Union of Black Episcopalians, will explore the extraordinary life and legacy of Absalom Jones. Born a slave, Absalom Jones became a free man, a prominent abolitionist and the first black man ordained in the Episcopal Church. He is celebrated in the calendar of the Episcopal Church on 13 February.
