Danny Weber, Sr. was a lifelong Galvestonian who spent over 30 years in the Galveston Fire Department as he worked his way through the ranks, eventually becoming Fire Chief. After he retired, still wishing to serve the community he loved, he ran for City Council, serving three terms as the District 5 Representative. Danny was a devoted family man and a good friend to all who knew him. This parade is dedicated to Danny because of his love for his community, fire department, and Mardi Gras.

Come march with the Krewe of WHO? in the ZKrewe Processional. The parade starts at 1:00 pm, but we will meet for a tail gate party at 11:30 am. We will “Tail-Gate” at the assembly area before and after the parade. Right after the processional and tail gate festivities, our Balcony Party starts for those with tickets to that event. However, there is no charge to march with us in the processional and all participants can tailgate with us before and after the parade. The 14th annual Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade, sponsored by the Galveston Island Humane Society, is set for Sunday, February 19th - beginning at 1pm. Promoting the theme “Bark Antony & CleoCatra” , this popular Mardi Gras event will kick off from 28th and Seawall Blvd and continue west to 46th and Seawall Blvd, before disbanding in the parking lot of the Academy Sports and Outdoor store. Parade Marshalls are Queen Madi and her owner, Michelle Beckwith. Queen Madi won the title of Pet of the Year at the Annual Paws Gala in September, 2011. Sponsored by and benefitting exclusively the Galveston Island Humane Society (GIHS), proceeds from the Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade will be dedicated to the shelter’s on-going Spay/Neuter programs assisting low-income families on the Island – including the GIHS “Fix your Pit” program. The Mardi Gras Carnival returns to 34th and Seawall for Mardi Gras Galveston 2012! Open daily February 10th through February 21st.
Ticket sheets: $20 for each sheet of 20 tickets. Each ride is 3-5 tickets per person per ride.
Wristbands: $25 each per person, ride all rides as long as you meet height requirements.

The Fat Tuesday Parade will roll for the 17th year. This lighted parade will feature Aquarius floats and the Krewes of Gambrinus, Thalasar, Bacchus, Babalu, Boudreaux, DuLac and ZKrewe. This is the final show before the curtain is drawn on Mardi Gras 2012. Don't miss the beads, floats, marching bands and merriment of the Aquarius "Fat Tuesday" Parade.
