Children’s Discovery Times has been modified to more fully integrate music and movement from the Movers and Shakers program. The new design will introduce infants and toddlers to the amazing world of music while keeping all of the wonderful elements of a story time and emergent literacy. All children from infancy through five years old and their caregivers are invited to participate in lively singalongs, play on instruments, and enjoy great stories. Discovery Times will now be held in two forty-five minute sessions on Monday mornings. The first session will start at 10:30 a.m. and the second session will begin at 11:30 a.m. The program will also include great handouts and activities that participants can take home and use to continue exploring the themes and ideas presented. New Moon Walk & Stargaze

Join Teacher-naturalist Susan Snyder at 6:30 p.m. for a walk under the dark skies of a new moon. We'll discuss why people are afraid of the dark and how animals are adapted to it, then go on a night hike. The musical begins with the story of Kendra, who at a rehearsal for a Christmas concert is overwhelmed by feelings of guilt and regret. When she questions her worthiness to perform, her friend and co-soloist Jason tells her the story of “Sarah.” The audience is then transported back to the dusty streets of Palestine where Kendra learns of Jesus, his mother Mary and disciples Nathaniel and Judas Iscariot. The story also includes fictional characters such as Tyras, a wealthy and arrogant politician who marries Sarah, and Mordecai, his duplicitous accountant. How did Christ’s life affect those around him and what was expected of the prophesied “King of the Jews?” Those questions and other are explored as the story unfolds.

Children’s Discovery Times has been modified to more fully integrate music and movement from the Movers and Shakers program. The new design will introduce infants and toddlers to the amazing world of music while keeping all of the wonderful elements of a story time and emergent literacy. All children from infancy through five years old and their caregivers are invited to participate in lively singalongs, play on instruments, and enjoy great stories. Discovery Times will now be held in two forty-five minute sessions on Monday mornings. Children’s Discovery Times has been modified to more fully integrate music and movement from the Movers and Shakers program. To benefit nature programs at the Ogden Nature Center, please join us for the 9th annual 5K Fun Run/2.5K for kids. Children will enjoy the 100 foot and 100 yards kids dash and everyone will love our gourmet pancake breakfast after the run. Registration is $22 for adults and $14 for kids 12 and under. Included is breakfast, a t-shirt, and prize drawings.

Children’s Discovery Times has been modified to more fully integrate music and movement from the Movers and Shakers program. The new design will introduce infants and toddlers to the amazing world of music while keeping all of the wonderful elements of a story time and emergent literacy. All children from infancy through five years old and their caregivers are invited to participate in lively singalongs, play on instruments, and enjoy great stories. Discovery Times will now be held in two forty-five minute sessions on Monday mornings. The first session will start at 10:30 a.m. and the second session will begin at 11:30 a.m. The program will also include great handouts and activities that participants can take home and use to continue exploring the themes and ideas presented.
