The Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society has taken on the effort of restoring, Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad steam locomotive #223 to an operational engine.
Our restoration shops are located in the Trainmen’s Building of the historic Ogden Union Station in Ogden, UT. Work sessions are held there every Saturday morning starting at approximately 9:30 AM through early afternoon. Access the shops by driving to the North end of Union Station at 26th Street along the driveway between the building and Track 1 at the rear of the facility.

Composer and world-music record producer Yuval Ron imparts the ancient and deep intercultural connection between these three traditions and the musical influences they share. In 2002 the world was welcomed to Utah in a spectacular way. The Olympic torch was run through the streets of Ogden with the final leg being run on Historic 25th Street by Spencer Eccles. The Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society has taken on the effort of restoring, Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad steam locomotive #223 to an operational engine.
Our restoration shops are located in the Trainmen’s Building of the historic Ogden Union Station in Ogden, UT. Work sessions are held there every Saturday morning starting at approximately 9:30 AM through early afternoon. Access the shops by driving to the North end of Union Station at 26th Street along the driveway between the building and Track 1 at the rear of the facility.

Resident Artists from Utah Opera John Buffett, baritone, Jennie Litster, soprano, Sishel Claverie, mezzo-soprano, Andrew Penning, tenor, and Daveth Clark, pianist, will reveal to the audience their considerable talents.
Here’s a brief synopsis:
Timid ranch hand Nemorino can’t get up the nerve to declare his love for sassy cowgirl Adina. When a rival appears on the scene, Nemorino uses a “magic elixir” to give him the courage to find romance. The Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society has taken on the effort of restoring, Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad steam locomotive #223 to an operational engine.
Our restoration shops are located in the Trainmen’s Building of the historic Ogden Union Station in Ogden, UT. Work sessions are held there every Saturday morning starting at approximately 9:30 AM through early afternoon. Access the shops by driving to the North end of Union Station at 26th Street along the driveway between the building and Track 1 at the rear of the facility.

There will also be a Kahuna Big Stick Best Trick Competition at the Terrain Park on Saturday put on by Kahuna Creations.
The goal is to get competitors to compete in all three events to help the crossover between the three similar board sports, so don't be scared if you aren't the best in one event atleast give it a try!!!

The Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society has taken on the effort of restoring, Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad steam locomotive #223 to an operational engine.
Our restoration shops are located in the Trainmen’s Building of the historic Ogden Union Station in Ogden, UT. Work sessions are held there every Saturday morning starting at approximately 9:30 AM through early afternoon. Access the shops by driving to the North end of Union Station at 26th Street along the driveway between the building and Track 1 at the rear of the facility.

Rory and his team are taking a tour bus across the country visiting 20 cities in 30 days from February 20 – March 20, 2012. Rory has partnered with The Crown Council and their charity, “Smiles for Life” to put on live events for the community to help raise money for local Youth Character Education programs.
This “Take the Stairs Tour” means they will be hosting FREE public events in each city where Rory teaches all 7 Strategies from the book on improving self-discipline and overcoming procrastination LIVE.
The events will be free of charge to anyone who wants to come and we’ll collect a suggested $10 donation per attendee at the door. Then 100% of the proceeds will be immediately given back to that local school district or community to financially support youth character education programs. Large ears that never stop moving! Antlers that grow back every year! The ability to run at speeds over 45 miles per hour! What it is? Mule Deer! Join us for a special Wild Wednesday program all about one our favorite and most fascinating mammals that call Utah and the Ogden Nature Center home. Sing along with our deer songs, search for live deer, and play a fun and educational game all about this antlered animal. Meet in the Visitor’s Center.
