Join us for the new Berlin Wall exhibit opening ceremony at 1:30pm. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall. Dividing both a city and a nation, the Wall symbolized the struggle for dominance between Western democracies & Eastern Bloc regimes for nearly three decades. During the Wall's existence there were approximately 5,000 successful escapes to the West, while at least 136 people died trying to cross it to freedom.
The new exhibit will center around a section of the Berlin Wall already in the museum collection. Join guest speaker Gordon L. Rottman, author of The Berlin Wall and over seventy other titles on military subjects. Gordon L. Rottman entered the US Army in 1967, volunteered for Special Forces and completed training as a weapons specialist. He served in the 5th Special Forces Group in Vietnam in 1969–70 and subsequently in airborne infantry, long-range patrol and intelligence assignments until retiring after 26 years. Chesapeake Bay Academy students and faculty will host an Upper School Open House Sunday, November 8, from 2 – 3:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. This is an opportunity to learn first-hand about the many unique programs offered to Upper School students.
Highlights of the program will include Chesapeake Bay Academy’s technology curriculum, School-to-Work program, and hands-on learning experiences. Visitors to the Open House will have the opportunity to participate in multiple interactive simulations.
The Upper School computer game design and graphic design courses prepare students to begin careers in their respective area of interest. During the School-to-Work program, Upper School students intern each year at various businesses throughout the area. Little Shop of Horrors is a rock musical by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman.

Little Shop of Horrors is a rock musical by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman, about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood. The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman.
