Paper Route / Scolaro / Satellite at The Camel

Live Music $10. Paper route - https://www.facebook.com/paperroute Here’s the situation. Carol Piersol presents "Gidion’s Knot" by Johnna Adams at HATTheatre

Stage & Theater May 30 - June 15. Gidion’s Knot received its world premiere at the Contemporary American Theatre Festival in 2012 and was subsequently published in American Theatre Magazine. This will be one of the first professional productions following last year’s world premiere. The American Theatre Critics Association called it a “perfect piece of theater that is both exhilarating and devastating.” This eighty minute award-winning drama follows what Wormald calls “a parent-teacher conference gone wrong (but then again, when do they not.) The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. It’s fascinating deconstructing this particular conference. It might change how I approach parent conferences in the future.” Over the course of an unexpected parent/ teacher conference in a fifth grade classroom, a mother and her son’s teacher are having a volatile conversation about Gidion. Is he a bully? A victim? A protector? Or, is his imagination too powerful a tool for the adults around him? As his story is uncovered,… Thursday, May 30, 2013, 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM. 1124 Westbriar Drive Richmond,VA.
