Famous for his Great American Nude series, American painter Tom Wesselmann (1931 – 2004) is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in the vanguard of American Pop Art. Alongside his contemporaries Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and James Rosenquist, he forged a new movement using the materials and images of everyday popular culture. However, unlike his two fellow Pop artists, Wesselman has never been the subject of a major retrospective exhibition in North America.

John F. Kennedy was the first president to have an official photographer, and nearly every president since has had one. Photographic images have become an increasingly critical tool in how we understand our presidents. This National Geographic exhibition features dozens of rarely seen images of recent U.S. presidents through the eyes of their official photographers.
Featuring images taken in tense times and on joyous occasions, during official meetings and at informal moments, the show explores the role of the president’s photographer, documenting for history every possible aspect of presidency. Label copy accompanying each image offers a fresh and candid viewpoint on life and work from the photographer.
The exhibition also includes the National Geographic documentary about Pete Souza, President Obama’s chief White House photographer.

It’s time for dinner and a show as the RVA Street Foodies Court rolls into the VHS parking lot with more great gourmet food carts.
The popular event drew hundreds to the VHS last season and now returns each Tuesday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Sept. 6.
There will be no RVA Street Foodies on May 14 or June 21. The museum will be closed during this year’s foodie court, but restroom facilities in the museum lobby will be available to the public.

When Michael Lancaster fled the corporate world, he did so on two wheels, pedaling through some of the world's most fabled wine regions. Returning to his native Toronto a year later, he knew he'd never wear a suit and tie again.
Michael headed to Northern California to attend the renowned University of California at Davis enology program. After working for Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves, he moved to Quail Ridge Cellars, where he was eventually promoted to winemaker.
In 2000, Michael formed a partnership with friends and launched Tin Barn Vineyards. Much like the "real" Tin Barn Road where he discovered the winery's first fruit source, the path has been steep and the views, incomparable.

Famous for his Great American Nude series, American painter Tom Wesselmann (1931 – 2004) is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in the vanguard of American Pop Art. Alongside his contemporaries Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and James Rosenquist, he forged a new movement using the materials and images of everyday popular culture. However, unlike his two fellow Pop artists, Wesselman has never been the subject of a major retrospective exhibition in North America.

John F. Kennedy was the first president to have an official photographer, and nearly every president since has had one. Photographic images have become an increasingly critical tool in how we understand our presidents. This National Geographic exhibition features dozens of rarely seen images of recent U.S. presidents through the eyes of their official photographers.
Featuring images taken in tense times and on joyous occasions, during official meetings and at informal moments, the show explores the role of the president’s photographer, documenting for history every possible aspect of presidency. Label copy accompanying each image offers a fresh and candid viewpoint on life and work from the photographer.
The exhibition also includes the National Geographic documentary about Pete Souza, President Obama’s chief White House photographer.

John F. Kennedy was the first president to have an official photographer, and nearly every president since has had one. Photographic images have become an increasingly critical tool in how we understand our presidents. This National Geographic exhibition features dozens of rarely seen images of recent U.S. presidents through the eyes of their official photographers.
Featuring images taken in tense times and on joyous occasions, during official meetings and at informal moments, the show explores the role of the president’s photographer, documenting for history every possible aspect of presidency. Label copy accompanying each image offers a fresh and candid viewpoint on life and work from the photographer.
The exhibition also includes the National Geographic documentary about Pete Souza, President Obama’s chief White House photographer.

John F. Kennedy was the first president to have an official photographer, and nearly every president since has had one. Photographic images have become an increasingly critical tool in how we understand our presidents. This National Geographic exhibition features dozens of rarely seen images of recent U.S. presidents through the eyes of their official photographers.
Featuring images taken in tense times and on joyous occasions, during official meetings and at informal moments, the show explores the role of the president’s photographer, documenting for history every possible aspect of presidency. Label copy accompanying each image offers a fresh and candid viewpoint on life and work from the photographer.

Famous for his Great American Nude series, American painter Tom Wesselmann (1931 – 2004) is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in the vanguard of American Pop Art. Alongside his contemporaries Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and James Rosenquist, he forged a new movement using the materials and images of everyday popular culture. However, unlike his two fellow Pop artists, Wesselman has never been the subject of a major retrospective exhibition in North America.

John F. Kennedy was the first president to have an official photographer, and nearly every president since has had one. Photographic images have become an increasingly critical tool in how we understand our presidents. This National Geographic exhibition features dozens of rarely seen images of recent U.S. presidents through the eyes of their official photographers.
Featuring images taken in tense times and on joyous occasions, during official meetings and at informal moments, the show explores the role of the president’s photographer, documenting for history every possible aspect of presidency. Label copy accompanying each image offers a fresh and candid viewpoint on life and work from the photographer.
The exhibition also includes the National Geographic documentary about Pete Souza, President Obama’s chief White House photographer.

It’s time for dinner and a show as the RVA Street Foodies Court rolls into the VHS parking lot with more great gourmet food carts.
The popular event drew hundreds to the VHS last season and now returns each Tuesday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Sept. 6.
There will be no RVA Street Foodies on May 14 or June 21. The museum will be closed during this year’s foodie court, but restroom facilities in the museum lobby will be available to the public.

On Wednesday, May 29 music blog RVA Playlist celebrates three years of highlighting the Richmond music scene and so far, it's been a huge success. Local writer Andrew Cothern returns to the Camel to commemorate the success of the online music digest with a free show. Last year’s event was standing-room only.
The night features some of the best local bands in the city including Anousheh, Long Arms and Horsehead. The Camel is RVA's destination for live music, which also has 28 local and craft beers on tap and serves a full menu all night. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. sharp.
Anousheh plays "piano-driven, pop-minded songs that are a little moody, a little indie, a little haunting and a lot from the heart." She's had dance world success with DJ Sharam for tracks "Fun" and "Don't Say A Word," as well as house music duo Deep Dish on tracks such as "Flashdance" and "Say Hello," which earned her Grammy nomination in 2006. Famous for his Great American Nude series, American painter Tom Wesselmann (1931 – 2004) is widely regarded as one of the leading figures in the vanguard of American Pop Art. Alongside his contemporaries Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and James Rosenquist, he forged a new movement using the materials and images of everyday popular culture. However, unlike his two fellow Pop artists, Wesselman has never been the subject of a major retrospective exhibition in North America.

John F. Kennedy was the first president to have an official photographer, and nearly every president since has had one. Photographic images have become an increasingly critical tool in how we understand our presidents. This National Geographic exhibition features dozens of rarely seen images of recent U.S. presidents through the eyes of their official photographers.
Featuring images taken in tense times and on joyous occasions, during official meetings and at informal moments, the show explores the role of the president’s photographer, documenting for history every possible aspect of presidency. Label copy accompanying each image offers a fresh and candid viewpoint on life and work from the photographer.
The exhibition also includes the National Geographic documentary about Pete Souza, President Obama’s chief White House photographer.
