Natalie was born and raised in sunny southern California where she grew up listening to music in a home filled with the songs and vibes of the late 60’s and early 70’s, from Dylan and Joplin to the British Invasion. By 19 she had taught herself how to play guitar, moved to LA and began writing songs that drew on her personal experiences and the inspiration of her old school, folk-pop roots. After some time spent in LA and touring the USA in 2009 with her first band, Traditional Matter, Natalie decided it was time for a change.
She came to NY about four years ago with her incredible vocals, her guitar and dreams. She burst on the music scene and quickly became a fan favorite at many of the local venues in NYC such as Rockwood Music Hall and The Living room. Infectious melodies & high energy songwriting makes menagerie an immediate favourite among Taterheads! You’ll be singing along by the second verse! This is songwriting from a time when irresistible hooks were just expected, and the Taters don’t disappoint!
The Taters have played the Richmond and central VA area for over 16 years, with six CDs of original tunes out. Starting out as an alt-country trio, with acoustic gtr, bass and percussion, we’ve expanded to a quartet (electric guitar & drums), and the music has moved more in a power-pop direction over the last 5 years, though still lots of early country influences. Our biggest emphasis is on melody and vocal harmonies, making us a hit with crowds who grew up in the 60s & 70s and loved AM and early FM radio. Robbie Schaefer is an Artist—writing and recording music, playing shows, and running OneVoice (http://onevoicecommunity.org), a non-profit he founded that connects children around the world through music and uses those connections to affect social change. In other words, he gets to go to places like Africa and India, sings with children, and helps them to do things like create schools or provide heart surgeries for kids who need them. On Wednesday, February 13th, Elijah Von Cramon was walking to his home in Charlotte when he was hit by a car. Lucky to be alive, he nonetheless sustained a fractured pelvis, broken shoulder, broken femur, chipped teeth, and brain damage.
Elijah’s band, Richmond favorites PAINT FUMES, was only weeks away from embarking on US and European tours in support of their full-length debut ‘Uck Life’. Instead, he has spent the past three months bedridden, only recently able to enjoy moderate mobility in a wheelchair at the cost of nausea from the astronomical amounts of pain medication required to keep him functional. Like many of us, Elijah does not have health insurance. The cost of the multiple surgeries he has already undergone is staggering to say the least, and Elijah still has many months of physical therapy to get through before he can walk again. In the early fall of 1973 The Marshall Tucker Band was still a young and hungry group out to prove themselves every time they hit the stage. Their debut album had already spawned numerous hits. The band’s recent release of their Greatest Hits album, in traditional vinyl form, is a time capsule from that period. “We were a bunch of young guys who didn’t know any boundaries” says founding member and longtime lead singer Doug Gray. As it turned out, the collective talents of The Marshall Tucker Band took them very far indeed. More than four decades later, the new vinyl Greatest Hits release takes us back to the early years of The Marshall Tucker Band, both literally and physically.

Brad is a masterful banjo player, guitar player, bass player and singer who got his start in bluegrass in the New England area in the 1970s. Brad currently lives in Louisa County and likes to join jam sessions as much as possible. Brad joined Heavy Duty Bluegrass in April of 2011 and has helped shape band’s harmony and rhythm. Some of Brad’s notable influences are Red Allen, JD Crow and Joe Val. In addition to traditional bluegrass style banjo, Brad is also quite a clawhammer style player. The word “Americana” gets tossed around rather loosely these days; it can mean anything from a hipster with a recently-discovered acoustic guitar to a decades-long denizen of the Grand Ole Opry. But when you set aside the Johnny-come-rootly types from the real deal, it’s a sure bet that you’re going to stray into Iguana territory. Based out of New Orleans for the past couple of decades – save for a short, Katrina-imposed exile in Austin – the Iguanas define a sound of Americana that crosses cultures, styles, eras… and even languages. Their latest album, Sin to Sin, is their first studio recording since 2008’s If You Should Ever Fall on Hard Times, and its release coincides with their appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Throughout the 1990′s as well as the 1980′s, 1970′s, 1960′s and 1950′s, there has been only one King of the Blues – Riley B. King, affectionately known as B.B. King. Since B.B. started recording in the late 1940′s, he has released over 60 albums many of them considered blues classics, like 1965′s definitive live blues album “Live At The Regal” and 1976′s collaboration with Bobby “Blue” Bland, “Together For The First Time”.

Jimmy LaFave is an American singer-songwriter and folk musician born in Wills Point, Texas. After moving to Stillwater, Oklahoma, LaFave crafted a musical style called Red Dirt music and became a disciple of the state’s most famous folk musician: Woody Guthrie. LaFave is an Advisory Board member and regular performer at the annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. In 1996 he received the Kerrville Folk Festival songwriter of the year award and appeared on the TV show Austin City Limits.
He has recorded 15 albums and his 2007 release, Cimarron Manifesto, reached the No. 1 mark on the Americana Music Association album chart. Country music fans remember Hampton native Ulisse from her days when she was signed to Atlantic Records in the early 1990’s where she released a critically acclaimed album Trouble at The Door with three singles and two videos. She was also a guest on many national television shows including Hee Haw, Nashville Now, Crook and Chaseand NBC’s Hot Country Nights.
These days Donna Ulisse is becoming a key figure in the bluegrass, folk and acoustic music scene as a singer/performer and songwriter. She has recorded five albums in the past five years of her original material which have charted prominently in the Bluegrass Unlimited charts, The Folk DJ National chart, The Americana Music Charts and Billboard Bluegrass chart. Her 2012 Christmas album All The Way To Bethlehem was called “a masterpiece” by Kyle Cantrell, host of Bluegrass Junction on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Edward Morris, writer for CMT.com dubs her “one of the most commanding voices in bluegrass music.”

With the production help of Joe Garcia and the engineering power of Paradox Production’s Brian Carter (Beauty is a Moment), Dave Coleman, Dave Ray, and Hitch are finished with a 13 song album that takes this roots rock trio into an aggressive and experimental musical horizon. The album features some spectacular guests including Audley Freed (The Black Crowes/Sheryl Crow), Jen Gunderman (The Jayhawks), Will Kimbrough (Rodney Crowell/Emmy Lou Harris), Jarod Manzo (Chris Scruggs) and a mighty horn section made up of Barry Green and Mark Douthit.
