Swing/Gypsy Jazz Concert

Gypsy jazz quintet Ranger and the ‘Re-Arrangers’ will perform with guitarist Neil Andersson. Andersson is one of the Northwest's premier guitarists. In the 1960's, he played with the Northwest rock group, the Fabulous Wailers. In 1986 he was elected to the Northwest Music Awards Hall of Fame, and in the 1990’s he co-founded the seminal Gypsy jazz band Pearl Django. His projects include Malibu Manouche, blending Gypsy jazz and surf music. The concert will feature music from Ranger and the ‘Re-Arrangers’ repertoire of American swing standards, traditional Gypsy melodies, and the music of Django Reinhardt. Dr. Amadei on Creating Self-Sustainable Communities in Developing Countries

Dr. Bernard Amadei will talk about the progress that EWB USA has made since its founding and what its current and future role in creating self-sustainable communities in developing countries, including what changes he would like to see for EWB and what roles corporate America and academic institutions should play. Dr. Amadei is Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He received his PhD in 1982 from the University of California at Berkeley. Did you know there is a farm located at the South Treatment Plant in Renton? The farm is lcoated at 1200 Monster Road S.W. Renton, WA 98057. King County has partnered with Seattle University and the Renton Food Bank and started a small farm in your neighborhood. For over a year, this farm has been operated by Seattle University students and the food grown here has been donated to the Renton Food Bank. We are now offering public work parties for anyone who is interested in helping out on the farm or learning about urban farming. Did you know there is a farm located at the South Treatment Plant in Renton? The farm is located at 1200 Monster Road S.W. Renton WA 98057. King County has partnered with Seattle University and the Renton Food Bank and started a small farm in your neighborhood. For over a year, this farm has been operated by Seattle University students and the food grown here has been donated to the Renton Food Bank. We are now offering public work parties for anyone who is interested in helping out on the farm or learning about urban farming. Anniversary Show

Dan and Pat Howard, owners of Howard/Mandville Gallery, are celebrating 23 years as one of the premier dealers of fine art in the Puget Sound region. The gallery is known to collectors throughout the region and beyond for discovering exciting emerging talent as well as showcasing nationally acclaimed artists. This year’s show will feature several new works by each of the gallery’s roster of more than 50 artists and will open with a preview reception on Friday, June 7th from 6-8pm and run through July 7th.
