Ashley Raines Live at Treehouse Cafe

Ashley Raines is an American songwriter, lyricist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Raines grew up in the Midwest and by the age of fourteen began to hitchhike away from his home in Kansas. Raines hopped boxcars and taught himself any instrument he could get his hands on, recording his songs on four-track reel-to-reel machines which he sold while performing on the street. Since the late 1990’s Raines has toured and performed 150(plus) concerts annually. Raines performs on his signature Weissenborn, a custom hollow neck lap steel guitar. He has released thriteen studio recordings since 2000. His raspy vocals and brooding lyrics suggest Tom Waits and Waylon Jennings, while his guitar work evokes Chris Whitley or Taj Mahal.
