The Northwest Driftwood Artists are celebrating their 50th Annual Driftwood Show on Saturday May 18th and Sunday, May 19th, 2013 from 10:00am until 5:00pm each day. The juried show will feature over 100 driftwood sculptures which are finished using the LuRon Method. A unique piece of "found" wood is cleaned, scraped and sanded, burnished and then waxed to a fine finish. Each artist spends hundreds of hours to transform their found wood into a fine piece of art.

The puppeteer production is a hilarious version of the Norwegian story about the Three Billy Goats Gruff attempting to cross a bridge.
One day, “Kid” the youngest Billy Goat Gruff, goes off in search of green, green grass and is startled by a River Troll! The River Troll tells him that there are many kinds of trolls in Norway, and assures Kid that he is one of the nice trolls. Learning this, Kid begs the River Troll to take him to the green, green grass on the other side of the river. After a slippery attempt, the River Troll changes his mind. Kid’s brother, “Junior” comes along and in many inventive ways they attempt to cross the river. 50th Annual Driftwood Sculpture Show
The Northwest Driftwood Artists are celebrating their 50th Annual Driftwood Show on Saturday May 18th and Sunday, May 19th, 2013 from 10:00am until 5:00pm each day. The juried show will feature over 100 driftwood sculptures which are finished using the LuRon Method. A unique piece of "found" wood is cleaned, scraped and sanded, burnished and then waxed to a fine finish. Each artist spends hundreds of hours to transform their found wood into a fine piece of art.

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous
What is FA?
Our program of recovery is based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. We make use of AA principles to gain freedom from addictive eating. There are no dues, fees, or weigh-ins at FA meetings. Membership is open to anyone who wants help with food.
Does it work?
Typically, before joining FA, we tried many different solutions to our problems with food, including diets, exercise, and medication. In FA we have finally found an approach to recovery that is long-lasting. Some of us have maintained a normal weight and have been free of obsession with food for more than twenty-five years. Newcomers are welcome!

Vocalpoint! Seattle presents “Breaking Hearts,” a poignant, and sometimes humorous, look at loves tougher moments, May 16-26, 2013.

Gypsy jazz quintet Ranger and the ‘Re-Arrangers’ will perform with guitarist Neil Andersson.
Andersson is one of the Northwest's premier guitarists. In the 1960's, he played with the Northwest rock group, the Fabulous Wailers. In 1986 he was elected to the Northwest Music Awards Hall of Fame, and in the 1990’s he co-founded the seminal Gypsy jazz band Pearl Django. His projects include Malibu Manouche, blending Gypsy jazz and surf music.
The concert will feature music from Ranger and the ‘Re-Arrangers’ repertoire of American swing standards, traditional Gypsy melodies, and the music of Django Reinhardt. Young violinist Ranger Sciacca will provide the counterpoint to Andersson’s improvisations.

Vocalpoint! Seattle presents “Breaking Hearts,” a poignant, and sometimes humorous, look at loves tougher moments, May 16-26, 2013.
All performances will take place at Broadway Performance Hall at 1625 Broadway Avenue on Capitol Hill. Performance times are 8:00 pm Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 pm on Sunday. The production will close on Sunday, May 26.
The show features the vocal, dance and dramatic talents of the 32-member Vocalpoint! Seattle ensemble comprised of high school men and women from throughout the Puget Sound region.
Tickets are $19 adult, $12 senior and students. Student tickets are only $5 on Thursday nights! Seating is reserved. What is FA?
Our program of recovery is based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. We make use of AA principles to gain freedom from addictive eating. There are no dues, fees, or weigh-ins at FA meetings. Membership is open to anyone who wants help with food.
Does it work?
Typically, before joining FA, we tried many different solutions to our problems with food, including diets, exercise, and medication. In FA we have finally found an approach to recovery that is long-lasting. Some of us have maintained a normal weight and have been free of obsession with food for more than twenty-five years. The Northwest Boychoir will hold open auditions for new members on Saturday, June 1, 2013 for fall enrollment at its offices at the University Heights Community Center in Seattle’s University District. Boys currently in Kindergarten-Third grades who will be between the ages of 6 - 9 in September are eligible to audition. No previous music or vocal training is necessary. Auditions are by appointment.

Celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ)
Church of the Redeemer, Kenmore, Washington, celebrates the feast of Corpus Christi (Body of Christ) on June 2, 2013. After the single worship service at 10:30 a.m. there is a procession around the church grounds and a picnic. All are invited.
Leading the procession out of the church building is a consecrated communion host, showing Christ leading us into the world. The procession stops at four stations to recall how Communion is important in our lives as Christians.
For the picnic, Church of the Redeemer provides hot dogs and beverages. Those attending the picnic are asked to bring salads and desserts. There is a sign-up list for the picnic in the parish hall in the undercroft.
Church of the Redeemer is located at 6211 NE 182nd Street, Kenmore, Washington. This is near the Burke-Gilman Trail at the north end of Lake Washington.

What is FA?
Our program of recovery is based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. We make use of AA principles to gain freedom from addictive eating. There are no dues, fees, or weigh-ins at FA meetings. Membership is open to anyone who wants help with food.
Does it work?
Typically, before joining FA, we tried many different solutions to our problems with food, including diets, exercise, and medication. In FA we have finally found an approach to recovery that is long-lasting. Some of us have maintained a normal weight and have been free of obsession with food for more than twenty-five years. Newcomers are welcome!

Dan and Pat Howard, owners of Howard/Mandville Gallery, are celebrating 23 years as one of the premier dealers of fine art in the Puget Sound region. The gallery is known to collectors throughout the region and beyond for discovering exciting emerging talent as well as showcasing nationally acclaimed artists. This year’s show will feature several new works by each of the gallery’s roster of more than 50 artists and will open with a preview reception on Friday, June 7th from 6-8pm and run through July 7th.

Lockwood Elementary in Bothell is hosting a community wide carnival on Friday, June 7th, 2013 from 5:30-8:30pm to celebrate its 50th year. At 5:00pm we will have a new 2013-14 families "Meet and Greet" hosted by Principal Ann Madsen. From 5:30- 8:30pm there will be tons of carnival fun going on.
There will be bouncy houses, cotton candy, ice cream, food booths, many carnival games, and loads of prizes- including a Nintendo DS!

Allied Arts of Whatcom County kicks off the 2013 Juried Artist Series with On the Edge featuring work from Andy Siebert, Ann Marie Cooper, Chris Shreve, Doug Forrest and Taj Williams. The opening reception will be held during the Downtown Art Walk, Friday, June, 7th from 6pm to 9pm.
On The Edge will be an exhibit of bold, loud colors and patterns in a variety of media all working together in a harmonious display of works that push the envelope. Painting, drawing, and clay are all tools for the expression of the artists.
