Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous
What is FA?
Our program of recovery is based on the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. We make use of AA principles to gain freedom from addictive eating. There are no dues, fees, or weigh-ins at FA meetings. Membership is open to anyone who wants help with food.
Does it work?
Typically, before joining FA, we tried many different solutions to our problems with food, including diets, exercise, and medication. In FA we have finally found an approach to recovery that is long-lasting. Some of us have maintained a normal weight and have been free of obsession with food for more than twenty-five years. Newcomers are welcome!

Garden Delights - All about Ferns
Ferns can play an important role in your garden. If you have shade, you have a perfect setting for ferns, although you may have to bring in some soil to cover tree roots. Our native sword fern can be a workhorse in the garden. It will do well in sun or shade. Beyond the sword fern there are many other ferns to choose from. Judith Jones from Fancy Fronds will share her vast knowledge on the topic. Learn all about ferns in this interesting talk and stop by to see the fern garden in the demonstration garden.

This workshop will take an in-depth examination of how we can drive deeper emotional resonance into our creations and push into new musical and sonic territories by focusing on the principles of audio aesthetics and artistic techniques from other media (whether it be painting, sculpture, literature, cinema, radio, etc.). How might we apply those devices to game audio design? How might we focus in on sound as a strong storytelling agent? Most importantly, how do we start thinking outside of the box and exploring unorthodox paths in order to create truly remarkable works of art?

An All-American Independence Celebration
Master Chorus Eastside’s popular Celebrate America concert returns once again to Issaquah’s historic Pickering Barn in two performances to commemorate the 4th of July. American music of all styles stands side-by-side with Dr. Linda Gingrich’s signature commentary to create an unforgettable Independence Celebration. This year’s theme focuses on American folk music, from the music brought from the Old World which we made our own, the spirituals, Shaker hymns and Appalachian songs that sprang into being on our own soil, all the way to the folk-music revival of the 1960s. Revel in Blowin’ in the Wind, Frog Went a-Courtin’ I Bought Me a Cat, Shenandoah, This Land is Your Land, and more!
