Friends of the Poor® Walk

Day after day, many people in our very own community struggle to make ends meet. As a result, the local Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Green Bay District Council, is helping individuals and families. Every day, SVdP volunteers work with families to provide emergency food, help to keep the lights on and avoid eviction. SVdP volunteers continuously work to provide individuals and families with assistance regardless of religion, race, or national origin. FRIENDS OF THE POOR® WALK is a national special event that was started seven years ago to raise awareness and funds for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. As our first time participating in this National event, we are joining over 230 other FRIENDS OF THE POOR® WALKS across the United States in an effort to eradicate poverty. Fur Traders Encampment

Oshkosh Community Dragonboat Race and Festival

The Oshkosh Dragonboat Race and festival began in 2006 as part of the UW Oshkosh Fall Fest on the Fox celebration. In collaboration with the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the Grand Opera House, a working committee was established to develop a community event that would benefit campus and community while simultaneously enhancing the appreciation and recreation of our waterways. Nine years later, the Oshkosh Dragonboat Race and Festival continues to be an event the city of Oshkosh looks forward to. Our course is a 250 meter stretch of the Fox River in Oshkosh, Wis. Teams congregate in our Athlete’s Village located inside the the beautiful Leach Amphitheater, just steps away from the start line. Bay East's 12th Annual Dog Wash and Silent Auction

Each year Bay East Animal Hospital teams up with the Brown County Sheriff Department's K-9 unit to raise money for the Vest-a-Dog program. The Vest-a-Dog program originated in 2001 to raise money for bullet and stab proof vests for our hard-working K-9 officers. Over the years, we have raised enough money to help the county purchase things like training equipment, first aid kits for squad cars, and vehicle inserts to keep dogs safe in transit. This year will be our 12th annual Dog Wash and Silent Auction on September 20 to raise money for this worthy cause. The event features: dog washing, a silent auction and raffle, food and refreshments, local vendors, and K-9 officer demonstrations. A fun day for the whole family! Summer's Last Blast Community Celebration

Before autumn takes over, come join us to celebrate summer one last time!  Green Bay Trinity Lutheran School, in conjunction with their five supporting Lutheran churches (Christ of the Bay-East GB, Faith-Allouez, Hope-De Pere, Our Saviour-East GB, and Redeemer-West GB), are putting on “Summer’s Last Blast” community celebration, to offer a last chance at some summer fun, while raising funds for Green Bay Trinity Lutheran School and the supporting churches. Twilight Tour @ EFBC's Feline Conservation Center

EFBC's Feline Conservation Center welcomes adult guests to its premier breeding, research and educational facility for a unique viewing of its fabulous feline residents during their most active time of day. Twilight Tours are part of EFBC's educational and outreach programs. As part of the evening's festivities guests will enjoy a raffle, bake sale, barbecue, and the highlight when felines will receive "enrichments" (toys) which will provide great entertainment for cats, as well as rare photo and video opportunities for guests. Jaxson Hinkens "Fear Nothing" Cancer Benefit

In August 2009, at 6 years of age, Jaxson was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He was cancer free for 3 1/2 years, but his cancer has returned. Now at 11 years old, Jaxson will need to undergo treatment; including chemotherapy, radiation, and another attempt at immunotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. Jaxson's motto of "FEAR NOTHING" gives him the strength to FIGHT cancer for the second time. The FEAR NOTHING benefit is being organized to help Jaxson's family with medical, travel, and living expenses while going to New York for treatment. 100% of donations raised will go towards Jaxson's expense and funding for the benefit. Admission to JCI Wisconsin’s Brew Bash '14 craft brew experience on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 includes sampling of various local, statewide and national craft brews. The First Great Menasha Library Chili Cook-Off

The First Great Menasha Library Chili Cook-Off will be on Sunday, November 2, at Waverly Beach in Menasha from noon to 3:00 pm when restaurants will vie for an award for the greatest chili.
