Diabetes Support Group

Community Events ThedaCare and other local health care, educational and church organizations have joined forces to create the Fox Valley Diabetes Education and Support Group, which is free and open to people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and their loved ones. The group, aimed at supporting, uplifting, guiding and encouraging diabetes patients, will meet for the first time on Thurs. Jan. 14, at Fox Valley Technical College. “This support group gives those impacted by diabetes the opportunity to network with each other and learn together on an ongoing basis,” said Lori Hartz, ThedaCare’s manager of clinical nutrition and diabetes education. “Participants will be exposed to all the healthcare resources available to them in the area so they’ll know where to turn for information, supplies and support.” Meetings will be held monthly from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Fox Valley Technical College, 1825 N. Citizen's Police Academy

Community Events The Fond du Lac Police Department is currently accepting applications for its Citizen's Police Academy that will start on April 1, 2010. The Citizen's Police Academy is a program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Fond du Lac Police Department. It is not a "training" class, but it is an exciting informational class. It is a behind-the-scenes look at the Fond du Lac Police Department. The Citizen's Academy program was designed under the premise that an informed community is a safer community. Informed and educated citizens will be more supportive of police officers and the Department, and they will be more proactive within their own neighborhoods. Community Events Charity basketball game to benefit Littlest Tumor Foundation The Town of Menasha Police and Fire Departments will be taking on one another on the basketball court to benefit the Littlest Tumor Foundation. Fun Luvin' Reunion

Community Events Downtown Appleton has always been known for some great music, and Fun Luvin' in the 90s was no exception. Many bands in the Fox Valley got their start playing at the coffee shop where their high school friends came to see the shows.
