Manawa Holiday Craft & Gift Fair

The Annual Holiday Craft and Gift Fair, sponsored by Sacred Heart Church in Manawa, will be held on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 from 9am to 3pm at the Little Wolf High School in Manawa. Address: 515 E. Fourth Street, Manawa We have over 75 different booths with a wide variety of homemade craft and gift items! Santa will make an appearance and be available for the little ones to talk with and take pictures with. Lunch and homemade desserts will be available for purchase, along with our ever popular themed raffle baskets! Admission: $1.00 per adult, children 12 and under are free. Over one thousand gorgeous costumes, beautiful sets, lighting & staging make Christmas Stars one of the Midwest’s premiere holiday attractions. This year's show includes a production number featuring one hundred dancing Santas, a scene celebrating the joys of a school "snow day," and a North Pole scene in which the audience helps foil a villainous attempt to shut down Santa's toy factory. 2nd Annual Cookie Decorating Extravaganza

Christmas Bird Count for Kids

$2/child Learn birding basics at binocular boot camp, then enjoy a friendly morning counting birds for the National Audubon Society's 117th Christmas Bird Count. Small groups led by experienced birders will walk a trail, document bird species and tabulate results. The bird count is for children ages 8 and up. Dress for the weather. 2nd Annual Stuff the Squad!

This is the latest community outreach initiative from the Manitowoc Police Department. Here’s the deal—just like the name of the event implies, the Manitowoc Police Department is looking to stuff a squad car full of non-perishable food items to help to deliver holiday feasts for those in our community that may not have the means to provide one on their own. There are several ways Manitowoc citizens can help out: they can purchase $5 or $10 prepackaged grocery bags of food items from Copp’s, they can bring non-perishable food items that they handpick themselves or they can simply donate monetarily should the spirit of the season move them. Regardless of how they reach their goal, the Manitowoc Police Department is looking to stuff that squad car to the brim until it’s overflowing with sustenance and holiday generosity! The morning keynote is "The Surly Surveyor: A Look at the Presettlement Landscape" by Rob Nurre, Landscape Historian. Lawrence University Artist Series: Elias String Quartet

Known for its vibrant performances, the Elias String Quartet has travelled the globe collaborating with many of the world’s finest musicians. In 2015, the quartet completed its Beethoven Project: recording the complete set of Beethoven’s works for string quartet. The project was broadcast by the BBC and performed in 11 major UK venues. The quartet was recognized with the 2010 BBC Music Magazine’s Newcomer of the Year Award and a 2013 Mentoring Scholarship from the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn.
