Monarch Tagging Program

Help tag monarch butterflies before their long journey to Mexico. Local monarch enthusiast, Ann Shebesta, will explain the importance of tagging these beautiful butterflies. Safety Day 2014

Please join the Town of Menasha Fire Department at Safety Day 2014! We will have safety displays and activities for ALL ages. The children can participate in the “Amazing Race to Safety” where they get a card of clues to visit the safety stations and are awarded a prize upon completing the race! Bay Area Spoken Word Poetry Night

A unique collaboration between Barnes & Noble and the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets features Marybeth Mattson, Singer/Songwriter/Poet. Marybeth will demonstrate spoken word poetry by performing poetry examples of her own. She will then conduct a workshop, providing exercises that illustrate key elements of writing a simple, one-stanza spoken word poem. The event is free and open to all ages. Prevent Suicide Fox Cities will be holding a fundraiser on September 9 starting at 5:30PM at the Bad Badger Sports Bar in downtown Appleton. Oshkosh Community Dragonboat Race and Festival

The Oshkosh Dragonboat Race and festival began in 2006 as part of the UW Oshkosh Fall Fest on the Fox celebration. In collaboration with the Oshkosh Community YMCA and the Grand Opera House, a working committee was established to develop a community event that would benefit campus and community while simultaneously enhancing the appreciation and recreation of our waterways. Shawano Country Miles of Art

Shawano County is opening its doors and inviting visitors to get a glimpse of local artists at work, as well as colorful murals, barn and community quilts, and fall foliage. The fourth annual “Shawano Country Miles of Art” is a fall celebration of the arts and nature throughout Shawano and Menominee Counties (Shawano Country) in northeastern Wisconsin October 4-5. The event will include self-guided tours of area artists’ studios, Walls of Wittenberg murals, Shawano Country Barn Quilts, combined with colorful fall drives. Jaxson Hinkens "Fear Nothing" Cancer Benefit

In August 2009, at 6 years of age, Jaxson was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. He was cancer free for 3 1/2 years, but his cancer has returned. Now at 11 years old, Jaxson will need to undergo treatment; including chemotherapy, radiation, and another attempt at immunotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. Jaxson's motto of "FEAR NOTHING" gives him the strength to FIGHT cancer for the second time. The FEAR NOTHING benefit is being organized to help Jaxson's family with medical, travel, and living expenses while going to New York for treatment. 100% of donations raised will go towards Jaxson's expense and funding for the benefit. Admission to JCI Wisconsin’s Brew Bash '14 craft brew experience on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 includes sampling of various local, statewide and national craft brews. The First Great Menasha Library Chili Cook-Off

The First Great Menasha Library Chili Cook-Off will be on Sunday, November 2, at Waverly Beach in Menasha from noon to 3:00 pm when restaurants will vie for an award for the greatest chili.
