We plan to experience new interactive indoor exhibits and view world class art in the morning, have lunch nearby, and (optionally) hike a 2-hour, three-mile loop trail with 252 ft elevation gain in the Monkey Run Natural Area of the Cornell Botanic Gardens. We'll then return to the Binghamton area - an hour's drive away.

Hawkins Pond National Trails Day Event

We'll be removing fallen tree branches from the trails, as well as clearing them of overhanging branches and cutting back other encroaching growth. Anything too big to handle with loppers and bow saws will be identified for the county personnel to take care of. We'll also be replacing missing trail markers nailed to trees.
