5:00-6:30pm Artist discussion with Dyani White Hawk (Sičangu Lakota), Keith BraveHeart (Oglala Lakota), Micheal Two Bulls (Oglala Lakota), Craig Howe (Oglala Lakota). Lakota Emergence is a powerful contemporary art exhibition that exemplifies Lakota self-representation contributing to vital, self-determined understandings of Lakota presence and futurity. The exhibition includes 18 artworks by 16 Lakota artists, each interpreting a passage from the Lakota emergence narrative "How the Lakota Came upon the World." Three contributing artists and the exhibit curator will speak to the creative collaboration behind this exhibit and the role of contemporary Lakota art in pursuing community wellness. Lakota Emergence is located in The Mobius Art Gallery Hours: Mondays through Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
