Description | Eleni Stecopoulos is the author of Visceral Poetics (ON Contemporary Practice, 2016), Daphnephoria (Compline, 2012), and Armies of Compassion (Palm Press, 2010). She is completing a book of essays, talks, and poems drawing on her curation of “The Poetics of Healing: Creative Investigations in Art, Medicine, and Somatic Practice” with the San Francisco State University Poetry Center. A new manuscript of place-based essays from travels in Greece explores ecology through performance, healing, violence, and the sacred. In 2018, Stecopoulos was in residence as a poet and Artaud scholar with the Outsider Writing Project at the University of Chicago. She has taught at Bard College, the University of San Francisco, the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, and in San Francisco Bay Area community workshops. Originally from New York, she lives in Berkeley. |
