Seattle Pacific University will host a networking and panel discussion on Wednesday, May 22, where women interested in cybersecurity careers can connect with female cybersecurity experts working in academia, research, and industry. Katya Drozdova, SPU associate professor of political science and an expert on cyberpower, international relations, cybersecurity, foreign policy, counterterrorism, and U.S. national and global security will lead the discussion. The panelists include:

Ginger Armbruster, Chief Privacy Officer, City of Seattle

Barbara Endicott-Popovsky, Executive Director, Center for Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, University of Washington

Morgan Zantua, Director of Professional & Workforce Development, Center for Information 

Alae Farag, Associate IT Security Consultant, Coalfire

Sammie Press, IT Security Consultant, Coalfire

April Mardock, InfoSec Manager, Seattle Public Schools

SPU’s School of Business, Government, and Economics offers an emphasis in cybersecurity in the MBA, MS-IS, and MAM programs, giving students a comprehensive understanding of how to identify and manage risk, training them to assess and mitigate an organization’s specific vulnerabilities in order to protect the integrity, security, and confidentiality of its digital assets.

The Women in Cybersecurity event begins at 5:30 p.m. in Demaray Hall 150 on the SPU campus.
