The Future of Aging symposium begins with a keynote address by Eileen Crimmins, AARP Chair in Gerontology and specialist in the demography of older populations, University of Southern California, and continues with these additional presentations:
- Eric Larson, Senior Investigator in Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute, Clinical Professor in the UW School of Public Health, and Associate Director, Administrative Core, ADRC, will focus on the links between environmental factors, such as air pollution and brain injury, and genetic factors that increase the risk of brain disease, with the goal of finding ways to help communities delay or avoid dementia. - Sara Curran, Professor and Director of the Center for Studies in Demography and Ecology, will speak on recent research focused on the growing diversity of the older generation in King County and the impact of demographic factors on the experience of aging. Thursday, November 19, 1:30 pm.
