Description | Submissions are due to present at the UW Seattle Spring Symposium to share or present your research or creative work. All disciplines, including performing and visual arts, are welcome. Symposium is planned to be virtual on May 21, 2021. All UW undergraduates involved in research are encouraged to apply and those not yet involved in research will discover that attending the Symposium is a great way to learn about the broad range of opportunities available at the UW. In 2018, over 1,200 undergraduates participated in the Symposium, with more than 3,500 people attending. The Symposium includes projects from all disciplines and encourages interdisciplinary discourse, allowing students to learn from each other about a broad range of exciting research topics. To help participants prepare, the URP offers abstract writing support and resources for preparing presentations. The annual Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) provides an opportunity for students, faculty, and the community to discuss cutting edge research topics and to examine the connection between research and education. It also allows undergraduates to present what they have learned through their research experiences to a larger audience in lightning and poster talks, oral presentation, performing arts, and visual arts and design sessions. We anticipate over 1,000 students will participate in this year’s URS, including students from Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma campuses, and other institutions in the region. Faculty, staff, community members, and students’ families attend the event. The Undergraduate Research Symposium will run synchronously and presentation sessions will occur at the scheduled time via an online platform. These sessions will not be recorded. Details and a link to access the Symposium online will be sent to attendees who have registered. Registration is free to all participants and attendees. |
