Description | Join us for a 90-minute virtual workshop on publishing and public scholarship in the humanities. Speakers Daniel Galley (Philosophy), Erin Gilbert (Cinema & Media Studies), Yandong Li (Cinema & Media Studies), and Ananya Sikand (Art History) will discuss their experiences as fellows at the LA Review of Books Publishing Workshop and address a range of topics related to the publishing industry and publicly-engaged scholarship. Special guest Lindsay Wright, Publishing Workshop Director at the LA Review of Books, will join us for Q&A. Applications to the 2023 LA Review of Books Publishing Workshop will be accepted from January 1-March 31. The Simpson Center will cover the application fees of all UW doctoral students students in the arts, humanities, and social sciences who apply to the LA Review of Books Publishing Workshop and the tuition costs of a small number of UW doctoral students accepted into the program, which will be held entirely online from June 20-July 21, 2023.
