Description | Effective writing and communication are essential in all disciplines, communities, and professions. In this session, which is designed for instructors who either teach “W” courses or for those who simply want to help students become better writers in a given context or discipline, UW Seattle Director of Writing Megan Callow will share some key principles for strong, integrated assignment design and efficient, equitable assessment. Participants will come away from this session with concrete strategies for assigning writing, and will also learn about the Seattle campus’s revised guidelines for teaching “W” courses. The University is committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation in its services, programs, activities, education, and employment for individuals with disabilities. To request disability accommodations, contact the UW Center for Teaching and Learning at least 10 days in advance at teaching@uw.edu. |
