Dr. Egan will lead the development and operation of programs reflective of UW Bothell’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion that involve more students with actively contested questions, empirical observation, artistic inquiries, and the application of new technologies. She will serve as the point person for undergraduate research and creative practice activities, joining the Connected Learning leadership team whose goal it is to advance quality co/curricular experiences that promote retention, civic leadership, and career aspirations for students. As a resource to the academic units and the UW Bothell community at large, she will collaborate to implement a sustainable infrastructure aimed at increasing the number of students participating in undergraduate research and creative practice. Dr. Egan (jesiegan@uw.edu), who has a PhD in English and led the Mellon Engaged Scholar Initiative at the University of Texas Austin, will be joining us full-time on Wednesday, May 24.
